Dock Buster Magnet is NOT a Bust!

If you are looking for a magnet to go magnet fishing this one may be your best bet.... but that depends on what you want it to do. This is made to be dropped straight down into the water... hence the term dock buster. It is fairly heavy and it is NOT intended to be thrown. The reason you don't throw it is that when you drag it back it will hop and turn upside down as you drag it back. This is not the optimal way to use this style of the magnet. I once threw it and the shape of the magnet easily caused it to be stuck in some rocks. WE had to pull really hard to move the rocks to get the magnet back. It really should be purchased as part of a set because you will ultimately want to throw sometimes and other times you will just want to use it as a dock buster. I think it is a great magnet but be careful... I have accidentally attached it full contact to a metal plate and it is almost impossible to remove the said plate. If you were to make full contact with a very heavy flat metal object you will not be able to lift it and retrieve your magnet back. This is because you will not be strong enough to lift it and the magnet will not let go. The shape of the magnet and the 2,100-pound pull will ensure you only come home with the rope, minus a few feet. It is a great magnet and I love it... I would buy again.

Doesn't work on things sideways I realize that helps unhook it from its magnetics but I reel it in and it's always on its side there for not picking up anything but fish hooks
