Key features

  • CONTROL CEILING FANS, FIREPLACES, AND SOMFY SHADES FROM YOUR SMARTPHONE - BOND turns any remote controlled fan, fireplace smart or Somfy shades in seconds. Activate the fan, control fan speeds, and switch on lights-all from your iPhone, Android phone, tablet, Amazon Echo, or Google Home Assistant. With BOND, you'll be able to use these smart devices to do whatever your remote control could do.
  • ALEXA AND GOOGLE-ENABLED - This device is certified by Amazon and Google to work with Alexa and the Google Home Assistant. Control your ceiling fan with voice commands. You'll never need to reach for the light switch or the remote again. Controlling a ceiling fan and fireplace has never been easier!
  • CONTROL UP TO SIX CEILING FANS - A single BOND can control up to six ceiling fans from one central location. The BOND can record and transmit RF (radio frequency) as well as IR (infrared) signals, so it will work regardless of what kind of remote you have. The area range is about 2,500 sq. ft. so you'll be able to control fans in other rooms or on another floor.
  • NO INSTALLATION NEEDED - Set up is extremely quick and easy. Simply plug in the BOND device, download the app to your phone, point your fan remote at the BOND, and you're done! All of the functions on your remote-including fan speed, light dimmer settings, and timer using IFTTT-can now be controlled via the BOND.
  • SMART HOME FUNCTIONALITY WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK - Everybody wants devices and appliances with smart home functionality, but many of these products are extremely expensive. With BOND, you can make your old appliances smart without replacing them. Our software currently supports ceiling fans and electric and gas fireplaces, but updates are on their way for A/C units, garage doors, and motorized shades!

Hoping for better control through Alexa and Wink integration soon
RastamageDecember 16, 2017
I'm going to keep this short. I was skeptical, but at the $79 price I decided to give it a try. I only have two fans in my house and the bond works as advertised. No complaints as yet. It does what it says. Works with Alexa. Hoping for better control through Alexa and Wink integration soon.
Infuriating product.

Product does not work, doesn't have instructions. I've tried for 2 weeks to get support to help. I never write reviews, so that I am writing this one tells you how passionate I feel about this product. Bond, great idea, poor execution. I recommend you sell your patent to Logitech.
great product!

At first this was very frustrating. Apparently if your wifi password has any special characters it can't connect. They are working on a fix but that won't be available for a while. Instead of changing my wifi password and having to change it on all my devices I made a guest network with a password the Bond could connect to then I synced it with my echo. They have great customer service and will help you get connected if you are having problems.
Once I got it working I really love this thing. It offers excellent bang for your buck in home automation. I have 6 ceiling fans that are all controlled by remotes and not hard wired wall switches so i thought i was out of luck with automating them. Well the bond easily connected to all of them to control the lights and fans in my 2700sf house from my echo or remotely from my iphone.
BOND, Really great BOND. The Secret Agent to making non-smart remote controlled things SMART

I purchased my BOND from the manufacturer's website. This device fills an absolutely unique niche area of home automation. If you own a fan that has an RF remote control, this device learns the radio signals from your original remote and then an android or IOS app can control that fan and/or light kit. In addition, the BOND App has an Amazon Alexa Home Automation skill that when enabled, allows for voice control through Alexa. I presently have two ceiling fans and one light kit being controlled by my BOND. Setting the device up initially was very easy. I ended up having a problem with inconsistent performance on my master bedroom fan and Gary from their online user support was extremely helpful in gathering information to correct the problem. I then spoke with Chris who works with the BOND engineers and my problem was completely solved and now my devices are all controlled flawlessly. The BOND device support will be broadened to support other RF devices such as electric window shades and garage door openers as the software matures. I understand that a single BOND can control up to 7 devices and that makes it much more cost effective than adding multiple Z-Wave Smart switches, to say nothing of saving time and money on not having to install any electrical switches or connections. I have my BOND in my "Computer Room" which is about 15-18 feet from the guest room fan it controls and about the same distance to the master bedroom fan and light kit it controls. I have nine Alexa devices in my home, Samsung SmartThings, Philips Hue, and three Logitech Harmony Hubs as well as two Chamberlain MyQ garage door openers. I have close to 200 switches and automations in my home and the two ceiling fans that BOND now controls filled the one remaining void in my home automation. This is a great product with great support and I look forward to seeing the BOND control devices beyond ceiling fans in the future. One interesting side note is that since this device works so well, I have considered buying internal RF controls for my other fans since they would be so much less expensive (around $20) than Smart Switches and then my BOND can control them as well.
Works for toggle button remotes, Not remotes with multifunction buttons

I commented on another review so part of my review will be duplicated. I am not yet ready to send back my Bond but that is likely because I received a free $50 Amazon GC (nothing to do with Amazon or Bond), bought on sale for $81 so this really only cost me $31. I am hoping for the garage door functionality soon. My Hampton Bay fan (probably installed in 2000, I've only been here 2 years) doesn't have any of the buttons asked by the Bond app. My fan and light button aren't JUST toggle buttons. If I hold them down they dim or change fan speed. This makes it very difficult to get this to work correctly with my fans. I am able to "trick" the Bond app by not holding the button but hitting it multiple times. Unfortunately I get different results. One time it is only a light off button, another time it is only a light on button. The software and app need a lot of work before this will be primetime ready.

On a positive my Hampton Bay outdoor fan light button is a toggle and their are low, medium and high fan buttons. The Bond app appears to have identified it correctly and it works. This fan light comes on at random times at night so I am hoping to utilize the Bond for this annoyance. For example, now I can leave the remote outside where it belongs and use Bond to turn it off in the middle of the night when it comes on.
