I gave this to an old retired oil well man for his birthday. The product looked fine in the box. He hasn't been able to get very far building it. He has to wait until his 13 yr old granddaughter comes to help him put it together. I can't wait to see it when they finally get it together.

This had to be one of the most fun puzzles to build, it didn't take long but all the gears and different assembly things made it super fun and the best thing of all is that it really works. If anyone you know is into these wooden puzzles this is a must have. A++++

First off, this was a lot of fun. But there are a couple of things that will save you some cussing:
1. Watch the YouTube video!! The builder does some helpful things that are not in the instructions.
2. There are some spare parts, so you don't necessarily need to reach for the glue if you break something. And there's a good chance that something will break because many parts fit VERY tight.
3. Use the paraffin on any part that moves and on parts that fit super tight.
4. Save your bits of toothpicks. You may run short of the ones provided if you use a full toothpick for every piece.

The accuracy of the parts is great if you pay close attention to the instructions and illustrations. Available assembly video is very helpful.. Much mild sanding is required for parts to fit and move.
