Advertised as stainless. These ARE NOT stainless; ran them through dishwasher and they rusted. Chrome plated is all these are; I could tell the moment I got them that they were too shiny to be stainless. For the cost however they are ok; will keep them sprayed with a food safe silicone spray to prevent rust.

OK, I'll admit it. I have a small grocery store or very large pantry in my basement. I take after my mother that way, only I don't have as much room as she did. I have this wire rack of shelves that hangs on the back of a door. It has heavy stuff on it, but I use these wonderful hooks to hang plastic grocery bags from the corners of each level of shelving. The plastic grocery bags hold lighter weight things like chips. Unlike regular S hooks that have equal size hooks at each end, these have a tight enough hook portion so that the hooks do not come off the wire shelf when I lift stuff out of the grocery bags and a wide hook for hanging items. They are a great S hook for what I use them for. I am so glad I checked Amazon for the product and found these.

I recently purchased 4 of the Amazon Basics shelving units on casters for garage storage and as an afterthought, I added these hooks just because I had a feeling I might use a few of them. I am so glad I did. A few??? I used almost all of them. I basically doubled my shelf space by doing so. Dozens of items that would have ordinarily used shelf space are now hanging neatly along the sides of the shelves--rope, tie downs, extension cords, corded lights, lanterns, and even a couple of soft sided coolers. Basically anything that is mostly cord, has a hook or has a handle can be hung from the Amazon shelves. Do yourself a huge favor; if you are buying any kind of wire shelving, buy a pack of these. I'm so glad I did.

I used these hooks on a baker's cart to hang mugs for the coffee maker. They worked perfectly. Not too big, not too small.
I also tried to use one to hang my hammock on its frame when I temporarily lost the hook that goes with it, but this hook was not strong enough to hold a child in the hammock. It is not advertised to hold that much weight and that's fine, but anyone thinking to hang too much weight from these hooks should know. For hanging small items, they are great!

Bought these S hooks for use with metal shelves in a garage. They work well, but I was under the impression they would be heavier duty. Probably my fault for not delving into the description. One end has a narrower loop as pictured, which helps me because I'm using them to hang things on the wire portion of the aforementioned racks or in slots. I have no regrets.
