This hat is pretty much what I expected it to be! If a wider rim is what fits your style, there's nothing wrong with this one at all. I noted from the previous reviews that this hat runs rather small, so I made sure to order a larger size. I also ordered this hat because it has a string for you to adjust snuggly under your chin. The order originally didn't come into my mailbox, but the seller responded to me when I reported it missing, and I got it soon enough! Turns out that there was a small typo on the address that I entered. Thanks for the responsiveness!

A good boonie for the price. I wear around 7 7/8s and the L/XL is snug but workable. I'm returning the first one due to a bad snap on one side but have already ordered a replacement. The brim isn't as stiff as a military issue but fairly heavy especially compared to other of similar price. I'd suggest spray starch not washing it which will break it down. Six day delivery or I'd just fixed the snap myself.

Seems to be made of good materials and well crafted, but the small-medium size was a little too large and the brim was droopy, making the hat interfere with my peripheral vision and view of overhead branches that could hit my head when hiking. I tried to shrink it by boiling it is large pot and letting it dry on a table but that didn't help much. The main problem seems to be from the brim, which is 7/8" wider than my old bucket hat but has less less heft and stiffness. The new hat would be fine for sitting on the beach but dangerous when driving.

The hat is very comfortable - fits better than expected. It's thinner than my previous hat so hopefully it's cooler in the summer heat - we'll see tomorrow. I'm bald so I need to wear one. Wide brims are the way to go when you work in the sun I always say. I took off one star because the brim is a little floppier than I judged by the pictures. Oh... I cut off the geek string. Now it looks ok.
