Outlets rotate, surge protection for 8 devices

I needed a type of outlet multiplier that could accommodate those large voltage converters. You know, those "boxes" with the prongs on them that connect your electronics to electricity. I was so happy to find this EchoGear product.
WHAT I LIKE:
-- The outlets rotate to the side or front. I can plug in at least four really bulky transformers, with room to plug in a couple of conventional cords.
-- The unit comes with a long bolt which drives into the wall outlet behind it and helps stabilize everything. The bolt hole is covered by a white panel.
-- Nice color, attractive form.
-- 1 USB and 1 USB-C ports on the side.
-- The unit plugs into a grounded outlet and is also a surge protector.
WHAT I DON'T LIKE:
-- It takes up two outlets' worth of space, but I know why this is. I get six outlets and two USB ports in exchange.
-- When plugged into an outlet with GFCI protection, you can't use the bolt to stabilize it. That's my situation. I just have to make sure I hold the unit with one hand while pulling out a cord with the other.

I seems that almost all electronic devices come with "wall wart" power supplies these days, and they take up space on a power strip, especially since there is no standard on how the connectors line up with the bodies of the connector. I found myself needing multiple extension cords of power strips just to handle 6 power supplies. This little power connector solves this by allowing the outlets to rotate 90 degrees. the bottom row handles supplies that have their bodies going horizontal when plugged in, and the next row rotates out and handles supplies that have their bodies going vertical. This one power strip clears up unnecessary clutter. I am really pleased with it.
You don't always "get what you pay for."

Every item similar to this was twice the price and I have the mentality of "you get what you pay for" so was a little hesitant to purchase these (bought 3). With this item you get MORE than you pay for.
With a lot of these multi-outlet add ons I worry about the weight of the unit wearing out the receptacles of the outlet and ruining it. Not the case here. For starters the unit itself is very light. And if that weren't enough to ease your mind there is a cover you remove and you can physically fasten the unit to the outlet via faceplate screw. Easing your mind of it falling out or wearing out the receptacles.
The USB a and USB c ports on the side of this fast charge your phones/ tablets and work amazingly.
My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the outlets on this can only work in 2 directions. Either facing you or 90â° you cannot plug in your things and swivel it until it is clear of whatever might be in the way. I highly recommend this and am ordering 3 more directly after this review. My father in law who I installed these for is incredibly impressed as am I.

Like many others here in the reviews, I was disappointed that there is NOT actually a hole on the front where a mounting screw would be expected (though a hole is shown), in order to anchor the outlet to the receptacle. (Same for both the white and black outlets I received.) Without an anchor, removing a plug will likely pull off the whole outlet.
But, internally there IS a tunnel that was clearly designed specifically for this anchoring function! I used a 5/16" drill bit to carefully create a hole right there where a manufactured ring has been stamped onto the front, as if calling attention to its purpose. Then, with a smaller 9/64" bit, drilled further through that front hole (tunnel is clearly revealed) so that it would create a hole in the back of the outlet in exactly the correct place, such that a 1.75" screw with the correct threading would stick out with a perfect length to then tighten this outlet to the receptacle. Now it can be securely mounted to the receptacle!
Other observation: though they swivel, a plug cannot be inserted midway across the swivel. A plug can ONLY be inserted straight into the front-facing position, or alternatively into the 90° position, and is then fixed in that position. The swivel inputs are merely decorative facings. (Unlike a Belkin model whose swivels allow full motion when a plug is inserted.)
The extra short width allows the outlet to share the wall plate real estate with a standard light switch. Very well designed.
