Restored my early model MW oven

I have had one of the first MW ovens to go on sale at an affordable price. Over the many, many years, I have had to replace the diode a couple of times and have had to wait for them to arrive. Now I have a spare that I keep attached to the back of the oven when the present one goes out 10 years from now. This diode fit perfectly and attached to the high voltage circuit in an instant. Just remember that you are dealing with lethal voltages here, so unplug, ground all points and be careful.
So far so good!!!

I have a Amana microwave that wasn't heating, all the lights, exhaust fan worked, so I went to see Dr Google and he told me that diode was the problem, I unplugged the microwave for 2 days to discharge the capacitor and had to be VERY creative to remove and plug in the new one because I didn't remove from the wall and it's a tight space to get hands in, and it WORKED!!!
Our $200 microwave rides again!

Just what our microwave needed and now I have a spare (assuming that I could find it next time I need one, LOL.) Before ordering any microwave parts, make sure that you are comfortable working on devices that can give you a several hundred volt shock even after they are unplugged. Then go online and find how to diagnose microwave problems. The diodes is actually the hardest to test. I have a Fluke meter with diode testing but have never figured out how to use it. I tested the transformer, magnetron, and capacitor; since they were all good, the diode was the only thing left.
Worked well for me. NOT a resistor like others have said

I tested this diode BEFORE I installed it. It most definitely is a diode, and not a resistor as others have suggested in their reviews. I installed into a LG over the range microwave and it worked as advertised. I think the problem with those reviewers is that they installed the diode into a microwave that has an electrical need greater than this diode is capable. Thus shorting out the diode internally. After they find their microwave does not work, they test it and conclude it must be a resistor due to the shorted out diode results.
