Works great other than the handle

The media could not be loaded. It's easy to install and uses very little energy. I ran a 35 amp hour battery up and down the lake for about 7 to 8 miles and still had plenty of juice left. The only CON: is the handle, it's very cheap thin and it snapped on me. When I turned it on high standing still. Other than that the trolling motor is awesome"¦

If your get the mount for use on a canoe or kayak avoid placement near middle of craft as turn will be slightly more difficult
Lake friendly but stay away from weeds.

I used it for the first time. I would recommend that you don't go near any weeds or lily pads. I had some weeds wound around the propeller though it said it was weedless. It was easy to take care of it. My friend who install it said it was fairly easy. I guess it depends on the kind of kayak you mount it to as to where you would put it. Mind only could be on the front. Other than that it worked pretty good. It did take some time to get used to how it turned. I only used it on a lake.
Motor is fine...mount is terrible.

I like the motor, it does not steer my kayak at all due to the placement on the side. I think a rudder will help with this. Right now I have to use the oar to track the boat straight and steer. The mount is the worst kind of garbage. The bolt does not tighten enough to hold the motor in place. I am working on some redneck fixes for this that will use claps to hold the motor but have not figured it out as of yet. Just know the mount will not be perfect out of the box.

I read a few bad reviews that almost steered me away from buying this motor. However, after easily installing it in about 20 minutes and after it's first test run on the water today, I'm confident the people who wrote bad reviews can't put things together properly. This motor is awesome! I mounted it on my old cobra fish and dive and it gets me cruising around 2mph on low speed and 3.75-4mph on high speed. The motor is very quiet also. I paired it with a mighty max 12v 35 amp battery and it worked flawlessly .I'M NEVER PADDLING AGAIN!
