Works well but Read this to save time and confusion

It seems to work fine. Low price made me concerned it would be terrible. Not so. Instructions were terrible Though. Mounted it in my older Dodge pick up easily but I needed an extension RCA cable to span the distance. Mirror supplied simply attaches over existing mirror easily in about 1 minutr. This is slightly in-elegant but gets the job done pretty well. You do not need to hook up the short red pigtail wires to anything on either end. I hooked up mirror display power to an ignition switched fuse in the fuse box / black wire to frame ground. At the back I Installed camera above the license plate in about 1 minute and hooked up power wire to reverse light wire This did not seem to need the ground wire on camera end to be hooked up so I did not. Once again I did not hook up the short pigtail wire from the video lRCA line To anything. Then I just ran the RCA video cable from one end to the other It was easy as 123 but just doing a nice job of hiding the wires and getting them hooked up took some time ( Getting wires under the headliner down, into the engine compartment/fuse box, and running wires from one end to the other trying to follow already installed wire looming."”I used youtube for various instructions and was not hard but just took time). So now when I shift car into reverse, the camera image comes on automatically and shows up in video monitor in the mirror When not in reverse the mirror just looks like a regular mirror. took about 2 hours to install I probably spent more time looking up YouTube videos to make sure I was doing it right
Difficult installation (and I'm a pro), additional parts required, dim screen, JUNK

Don't think you're going to just hook this up in a half hour. I don't care what the other reviews say. I used to install car stereos and it took me a half day and 2 trips to the electronics store. The voltage in my back up light (2017 Dodge Ram 1500) tested at 11.8 (some loss due to distance and the puny power wire they provide) and that was not enough to kick the screen on. I didn't want it on all the time, as that would be distracting, so a relay, some wiring, a trip back to the electronics store for a switch. fuse holder, fuses, zip ties to make it all last... $20.00 in parts and a half a day to wire it properly and I had it working. The screen is too dim, the resolution is OK, but I wouldn't rely on it as more than a helper when hitching up a trailer. The red lines show you as hitting the object behind you, when you're still 2 feet away, so they're useless. I suppose it's better than no back up camera at all, but compared with the factory one in my other car (a Dodge Challenger) it's junk.
EXCELLENT video quality, highly recommended! (a little challenging on the wiring setup, see comment for my hint)

I can't believe how good the quality is on this setup! The price is so low that I was hesitant, even with all the positive reviews... But those reviews were positive for a reason! The wiring of the system was a bit tricky, the pig tail power cable off the video wire threw me a bit, but after figuring that out (hint, you only need to run the power from the camera to the reverse lights, then tie in the video pig tail on both ends. Then connect the power cable via the RCA on the mirror side and tie in the pig tail from the video. Don't run the remaining length of power cable from the mirror side. This makes a loop and causes the reverse light to come on. The power will be carried to the mirror from the video line since you tied the pig tail in at both ends and ran the camera end to the reverse light.) it was smooth sailing.
TL;DR - excellent video quality on both the camera and mirror screen. I would most definitely (and have already) recommend this to friends. Hope my little find on the wiring helps someone out!

A great product when used with another backup camera or a wireless system if you prefer a simplified install.

The system works very well, but the backup camera I agree looks like it would fill with moisture. I purchased a separate backup camera with a led light for backing up at night. The thing that is difficult is running the wires. I seemed to be missing a cable, so I purchased a wireless adaptor that just needed power from the rear backup light for the transceiver and then the Mirror Monitor simply was plugged into the cigarette lighter which also had the receiver inside for the video. The backup camera I purchased could be adjusted on the metal bracket. I installed this on an older Acura TL which had a low rear license plate so I mounted it directly above it. The wireless system does cut out a bit and change colors oddly. I am not sure if it is due to the mounting position I chose on the rear bumper.
Amazing!!!

I got this camera from my grandmas PT Cruiser. It's a great camera and so easy to install took my husband about a hour and a half. Picture is extremely vibrant and clear. Having the camera picture makes it easy to see and not confusing or awkward to look at, especially for older people. Not having to replace the radio is nice as well! Bottom line you can't go wrong with this amazing back up camera!
