Knife feels great in the hand I like it a lot. I do think it could have been sharper out of the box though. For the price I should not complain.

First the pros. A good sturdy blade. I use it to carve out little men with big noses. I'm a beginner so take what I say with a grand of salt. My skills lie more in leather. The handle had a good shape and the size of blade suited me well.
The cons it came reasonably sharp but it definitely could have been better. It was sharp for any other tool but it struggles cutting through the grain. Going with it is by far the best I have used but the only purpose built one I have tried. While comfortable the handle was slightly dissapointing. It is very comfortable to hold for a long time but some of the end grain was not well sanded and smoothed and it would be nice to see one with a bit of stain or oil to improve the wood. Fortunately I have experience in wood working and happen to have some oil and vonditioner and sanding sheats for a cutting board I'm fixing. A quick Passover of 200 grit paper and then 300 and finally 500 did an ok job. I then wet the wood, drying it with a heat gun to raise the grain more still and repeated the sanding all the way up to 1000 grit. I could have done it better and taken more time but it was only a small blemmish. Finally a few coats of oil and conditioner made it darken a little and feel much better in the hand. I think if I get board I may compleatly go all in with the handle but I want to be clear the whole process took perhaps 45 minutes and you don't need to go that involved with it. It may not bother you a all and it is still well worth the money for a beginner.
