There are countless tape measures that look identical to this one, yet most of them are only 30 or 40 inches, making them just a bit too short to be useful for measuring some things. This one is a full 60 inches, yet it's identical in size and weight, so it still fits perfectly into my pocket.
To make it fit into such a small case the tape is slightly thinner, but it's still very strong and durable. I was a bit skeptical about the black background at first, but I've gotten used to it. It's different, but still easy to read.
In my case, I'm not using it for body measurement or clothing. I like to bring a small tape measurer with me when I shop for certain items like desks, filing cabinets, etc., so I get a sense of how they'll fit in my home.

I LOVE this tape measure so much especially as a knitter!! I keep this along with, a small altoids mint can (full of stitch markers), and a small pair of foldable scissors. They're so small they fit in a recycled 35 count gum container. I needed everything small enough to put into this old gum container so I could put it in my knitting bag along with my hat/sock projects.
