Nice backpack

I've bought this style backpack a few times and am never disappointed.
Each backpack before this has failed due to zipper problems, but to be fair, that is mainly due to user error causes by overstuffing the backpack with stuff or lifting the full pack by the zipper strings.
Important to this review is to note that this particular size is more of a medium or one-day pack vs the size up which is easily a week-ender/ 3-day pack.
Inexpensive and gets the job done.

I purchased this product for use as a hiking, camping and all around camera backpack, that doesn't LOOK like a camera backpack. It "looks" like what it is, a 30 dollar knockoff tactical backpack from Amazon. That is exactly what I wanted for my DSLR gear to at least minutely leverage against the interest of thieves who immediately target "camera backpacks".
But then I ran into a problem with finding an insert suitable for my SL3 because the large compartment isn't particularly deep, then I found another product, this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002EA5MUM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Which easily holds my DSLR safely along with room for essentials in case you want to leave the backpack behind and take only the camera and essentials without additional gear, and fits perfectly within the largest compartment of the backpack.
Of great importance is that this backpack is VERY WELL laid out, with MANY compartments and pockets, making it a great choice for stowing a variety of camera gear, plus some hiking or camping essentials or other EDC items. I've been taking this bag with me to the lake, the river, campgrounds, in my car, throwing it around (Well, not THROWING, but being relatively casual with it and not treating it like a snowflake, and it has held up well so far. No stitching, zipper or any other problems in the two months I've been using it, and I've been using it quite a bit.
Am about to buy a second one to stow ONLY camping gear, because I can fit a LOT of essential gear into this pack and can use it without worry that being used for something other than urban usage will tear it up immediately. I have no doubt it will wear out eventually as it's not made of any sort of really expensive material, but the material it IS made out of is durable enough that I doubt you'll find another product that isn't basically the exact same, with this kind of durability, for the same price.
Even those cheap backpacks for carrying books are in this price range. If you want something better, you'll pay a lot more for it. Recommended.

Zipper doesn’t hold up for long

I bought this backpack a few months ago to go out of town. I never left, so I wasn't able to use it until a few weeks ago. The zipper has already ripped which makes it hard to unzip.
The best backpack I’ve ever owned
pie rce✓ Verified Purchase•August 25, 2023
First off this backpack is perfect for a person who is always on the go. I purchased this bag a little over a year ago with the expectation of a good backpack I could use while finishing high school and starting some votech programs. This backpack has done more than exceed these expectations.
I use this thing for EVERYTHING and I also take it with me everywhere I go. It has survived long rainy nights outside (and kept all of my stuff inside dry) molle attachments are easy to find and hook up (don't be cheap when buying attacments they should hold up just as good as the bag) I purchased the green one came in perfect condition.
I have torn up every backpack I've ever owned except this one. If you're on the fence I can assure you its a tremendous buy. Buying this backpack was the best investment I've made in recent years. It holds my textbooks, medical supplies, a spare change of close, iPad, and accessories with ease I don't often write reviews but I'm sold on this product so much I just bought another one in tan. The only recommendation i can make is to take some electrical tape and wrap it around the paracord and burn the ends of the paracord together. (as shown in pictures) i can guarantee if you do that you're set! Perfect backpack

Great for what it is and price point...

Just about perfect.
This is well assembled pack that offers good organization of your equipment. Very versatile and appears to be well made for the price point.
Plus: Perfect size for 2 maybe 3 days of equipment. it is a small pack (not quite a full 3 day pack) and I knew that going in. just what I wanted, Good amount of organization within, adequate cinching, Room for small water bladder. Velcro patch strips adequate.
minus: color not same within materials, pack color actually more brownish/green than OD . straps are OD green. however I have to say it does look cool the combo, not expecting much for price point but it does somehow pull it off. Not the new style of Assault back pack padding (two pads and center vent) if you plan on using in hot or for long duration's keep this in mind. You maybe able to add your own padding where water bladder goes? haven't tried though... the reason for 4 stars are straps, back padding and color. functionality gives it 4.
My use: overnight bag and bug-out bag with minimalist 3-day equipment needs. I replaced this with a bigger bag and its perfect. bug out bag setup (I use small bags for quick change out of bags needs): shelter, medium ultra-lite tarp, space blanket, 275 paracord (not 550 to keep size down) I have a ultra ultra lite/small sleeping back I can strap to outside if I feel necessary. Food, 72hr instant kit, with protein drinks, ultralite wood and a penny alcohol stove. small bottle of d-alcohol, 3 esbit 1300 tabs, starter and tender. 550 titanium pot/cup w lid, 1.5L water bladder (2L would work but you may not be able to fill 100%). Sawyer mini water filter (which I dig, so simple, small, 100k gal, screws on any water bottle, come on). General: small/med first-aid kit, knives, multitool, headlamp, small binoculars and my favorite razor sharp camp axe with custom kydex sheath clip/strap to outside. A extra pair of socks, underwear, gloves, bennie(I have down jacket and ultralite rain jacket usually with me all the time or next to pack to grab with pack)... food and clothes for now are in WP bags, may end up doing all, currently using zip locks for others. I keep everything as ultra-lite as I can to be able to fit all the above in pack. its lite, quick and ready. keep practicing your bushcraft with what you have to understand your abilities, that is essential.
