the info on your desktop would not be as useful so they don't make an app

i ended up returning it because i do not want to download the app and give yet another company all my info. honestly it is lazy and dishonest of these companies to make everything a mobile app and no desktop app. They do this so they can continuously mine your info and sell it. the info on your desktop would not be as useful so they don't make an app. this is not only this product that does this hence the high rating. the product itself was quality but I wouldn't buy it unless it was on sale. the normal price is too high

As other reviewers have found, I had the worst time setting up the scale, but that could have been because my phone is REALLY old (for a phone). I ultimately had to find another Android device, and with that, the setup was easy.
If you're all about numbers, recording, charting progress -- as I am -- then you'll love this. Much is made of the "app" but it's worth pointing out that you can also access all your data (for the Healthmate and linked MyFitnessPal (with which you track calorie intake)) online. So if you prefer a real keyboard and a screen, it's great.
The scale weighs and analyzes you, and then automatically uploads the data -- none of this inputting nonsense. Meanwhile, on its display, it scrolls through your weight and metrics, with a very simple under/normal/over indication. The first time I saw this, it was a slap in the face -- I have some work to do...
My only reservation is that this is now a Nokia product -- an out-of-the-race cell phone maker thrashing around to find new product lines. I really hope that they stick with this and support it over the long term.

I couldn't connect to the scale. I tried for at least half an hour to connect through the app, but i never succeeded. In some rare cases my phone was seeing the scale but it never made a successfull connection. Really frustrating.
I want to sync my weight data with Apple Health. The scale is easy to setup and works as advertised.

I was a bit worried after reading all the negative reviews, but I decided to buy the Body+ anyway with the goal of synchronizing my weight data (BMI, weight, etc.) with Apple Health on my iPhone. After unboxing the scale and spent 10 minutes setting up my Body+ account, it is up and running. I spent another minute linking the app with Apple Health, which can be done by starting the Health Mate app and then click on Profile, scroll down until you see Apps, click on the Health app and enable sharing. I tried the scale several times and the data is updated on my iPhone Health app almost immediately, so far so good.

I've had one of these since before Nokia bought Withings and have loved it. I bought a second one as a gift and had a totally different experience. The new app simply does not work. You cannot setup the scale to use it. It will act like it's all working, but then go back to the first setup step without any error message and everything display a setup failed message on the screen. We tried for hours and got nowhere with it. We're returning it. I sure hope I never need to re-setup my own because I know I'll just end up throwing it away.
