Somehow I lost my existing thermometer, and because of an illness that put me in the hospital, I ordered this as a replacement. It works well and the readings it gives are consistent with the readings that my home healthcare givers get. As others have noted, I don't get a tone, but my temperature is consistently in the 96-97 degree range. If it gets up to 98.6 then I am not well. The flexible stem is nice since it seems more user-friendly and I am less likely to jab myself with it.

I bought this to record my basal body temp and I take my temperature every morning as soon as I open my eyes. for the past week, I have been taking my temp for at least 4 times in a row and each time I get a different number!!! I also wish that I had bought a Thermometer with LED light. It is very hard to read the number on the screen if the room is not very bright. I throw the box out otherwise I would have returned it. I think I will go and buy another thermometer.

I just received this thermometer and it keeps reading below the normal body temperature. I bought this for my classroom, so the need for it to be accurate is important. The other thermometer that I use reads the average temperature which Is 97.9 and this thermometer is reading between 95.1 to 96.1 and I've tried it on several of my students. It's a concern because I want to make sure their temperatures are reading as accurate as it possibly can.
