THE ABSOLUTE WORST.
Amazon Customer•November 28, 2017
This is my first time ever writing a review because I have to share with the world that this is quite possibly the WORST TOY IN THE WHOLE EXISTENCE OF OUR UNIVERSE. I purchased it as a Christmas present because my girls were begging for it, but they actually received it as a birthday present before Santa could deliver it. This morning we dove head first into the nom nom nail polish experience which left me wondering DID ANYONE ACTUALLY TEST THIS PRODUCT BEFORE MANUFACTURING, DISTRIBUTING, AND SELLING THIS PRODUCT FOR A SMALL FORTUNE?!? The directions lead you to believe that the polish will gleefully accept its new place of residence in the empty bottles, but it denies this new home with a fiery passion. It does not just drop in with ease, it explodes like it is Mount Vesuvius in it's finest moments. It stains the fingers of all involved and sucks all the happiness from your soul. I don't know Mr. Nom Nom personally, but i know for a fact he has not tried this contraption with his three eager to help children. He's laughing at us from the safety of his billion dollar Nom Nom lair, because this is a "hot toy" for Christmas and we are all willingly dishing out 40 dollars for this!!! DO YOU KNOW WHAT I COULD DO WITH $40 INSTEAD OF SPENDING IT ON THIS PIECE OF CRAP?!? I could have soaked my cash in kerosene, lit it on fire, and roasted a single tiny marshmallow. I could have made 40 tiny origami birds and released them into the wild. I could have used it in the bathroom this morning when i ran out of toilet paper and watched it flush down the toilet with my feces.
In the end, please heed my warning and my rating of one star. In fact, I give it ZERO stars but amazon wouldn't let me do that. This nail polish maker is nothing short of the devil reincarnated and will ruin your life. The end.
*I didn't buy it from amazon, but will be spending my money returning the one I purchased to a store that rhymes with shmoys R shmus.

Daughter Enjoys It!

I have read the reviews before purchasing this product for my daughter and I was a bit skeptical... but it's something she really wanted, so I bought it anyway and hoped for a better experience than the others who have reviewed this and gave it 1 star. It wasn't hard to use at all... product was easy to squeeze out of the "scented polish" bottles and etc. You don't need to completely fill the nail polish bottles with "milk" all the way to the top, for those who stated there wasn't enough product to fill the 3 nail polish bottles. However, I DO have 2 CONS: 1. the polish will stain your fingers and 2. the twisty thing you put your polish bottle in to mix everything together, sucks. You're better off just shaking it yourself. Nonetheless, it was great for my daughter. She's happy with it so I'm happy that my money didn't go to waste.

I cannot recommend this for anyone.
It comes with three empty bottles for polish. Initially I thought this wouldn't be enough but after filling one, it's probably a lifetime supply.
The bottle filling process is **incredibly** frustrating. The "polish" -- whatever it's made out of -- is super viscous. It's also very prone to forming bubbles. These properties mean that filling the bottle to the appropriate level happens, basically, drop by drop. You'll be constantly trying to pop bubbles and endlessly knocking the bottom of the bottle against the table in an effort to get the content to settle and get the bubbles to pop. They will not.
What eventually worked was inserting a toothpick into the bottle at an angle and then slowly dripping the polish a drop at a time down the toothpick. This seemed to prevent the formation of bubbles and clogs. At this point I was ready to give it two stars.
After testing the nail polish (on myself, why not?) I found that it was gone the next day. After a single shower.
So not only is the product incredibly frustrating to use, it has basically no longevity. Our child grew bored of the process, since it took two adults about ten minutes to get a single bottle filled.
I cannot recommend this to anyone. By the time a child is old enough to do this on their own they'd probably rather just have real nail polish.
Don't buy this.

This product is terrible! It was the main gift my 9 year old wanted for her birthday. She was able to get the glitter in the polish bottle but then couldn't get the color or milk (the binding agent). I worked to the point of major frustration, ended up cutting the ends of the items to pour into the polish bottle! At this point I thought I'd found a complicated and frustrating answer to the problem. Then came mixing. The instructions say to mix it for ONE minute or until thoroughly mixed. My daughter mixed for 3 minutes and I mixed for at least 5 and it was nowhere close to being mixed. At this point my daughter is over it and asks to return the toy. She never asked to return a toy. I continued trying to mix it to no avail. My daughter has other Num Noms products but none of them have been a disaster like this one. This is a complete waste of money and a huge, messy frustration!
Pass and get a chemistry set instead!

I did not purchase this on Amazon but I did purchase this item at a toy store. I felt so compelled to write a reviewas a parent and consumer. I am forty something and I could not even get this thing to work right! Most of the "milk" and other liquids that are supposed to be squeezed into the little bottles, don't make into the bottles. Most of it gets on the table and the kids! What a mess! I am all for kids getting their hands dirty but at least make it fun! My 6 year old daughter started getting so frustrated with this and even I Did! I would pass on this and get a chemistry set because all they really want to do is mix different things together and see what happens.
