Headphones and Mic great
markb✓ Verified Purchase•October 27, 2023
Do not like the cup type headphones - as it makes your voice and sounds come from inside your head - this kind of lay on your ears which is a plus. The ANC really works well - and super surprised how well they sound with normal audio on the Mac - One downside I experience - if you wear glasses and want to mute the call by lifting the mic will bump your glasses- or cause you to move them up a little to mute - the MS version seems to have to go a lot further up to mute - while the standard UC version has a shorter pull distance -
Mute btw can be turned on/off by a small button at the top - but you have to go searching for it and I don't know how much of that noise translates over the mic of scratching your headphones to mute a call-
Sound quality great - ANC great- wish you could have sound through on all the time not just when your not in a call - but this gets really solved by the mic feature to pump your voice into the call- and you can set the level in the Jabra Direct Mac App - I would buy again- I would not mind the more expensive headphones from Jabra but, the dead silence- over the ear they have on the 85UC/MS version would defeat the purpose - these are great and handy and comfortable

Update: Upgrading my review to 4 stars. The improvement in the sound quality when I make calls more than outweighs the better sound on listening to music. I cannot overstate the way my friends can hear me so much better when I'm on the phone with them. My L2s are now upstairs in the bedroom and are reserved for listening to music when I'm not expecting to make or receive any phone calls. The Evolve 75s are now squarely my daytime headphones.
. I was looking for something that let all of my callers hear me clearly. It's been hit or miss with my Hiearcool L2 so far (couldn't beat the L2's $75 price, though). I can say right now that the L2s are far superior for music than the Evolve 75s and it's not even close. The microphone seems to be better with the Jabra's. I guess I'll have to keep both on hand and use the ones that are most effective at the time. A pet peeve is that the boom doesn't stick to the magnatic tip well at all. Not a deal breaker but you like to see things working properly at this price point. If I don't have any complaints from my callers, it'll be worth the extra expense but that's a must. Otherwise, these are going back to Amazon.

Very Good for Video Conferencing and Switching between Computer(s) and Cell Phone

This headset has been perfect for my purposes. I am a teacher and have been using it for online instruction. I can hear and be heard a lot clearer than I was without it. The noise cancellation is very good for background droning noise, and while it doesn't shut every external sound out, it reduces it to the distance (which is ideal for me). The sound quality is decent, including for music, which has been fun. I love that there is no complicated setup for the computer, just put in the dongle and it's good to go (and I can switch computers easily without having to go into Bluetooth settings). It also easily switches between the computer and my cell phone, which is valuable to me, as I have to go back and forth a lot. The way it mutes when I put the mic up is handy (and I like that the mic attaches magnetically to keep it stowed in place). The button to switch to hearing outside sound without taking them off is handy when someone in the room talks to me. The combination of features has been really useful for going back and forth between video conferencing and making calls. I'm very glad I got it.

The headset is a great addition to my to my daily calls while at work. They do drown out the noise around me as I work in an open office layout so there's people all around me on calls, or talking. I haven't had to use the ACTUAL noise canceling feature yet so I think they're working great. They sit comfortably on my head without any issues and the ear pads are soft but have a feel like they might be too durable so I may need new ones before long.
I know a few people mentioned having connectivity issues switching between desktop/laptop and then back to phone pairing, I haven't had any issues I have an iPhone XR and it pairs nicely. As well as my work laptop just fine.
The sound quality for music or movies is not best I will say that which is why I'm giving it a 3 star for sound. I've heard way better headphones out on the market and my AirPods actually sound better and clearer.
Overall for what these headphones are is great for my needs and I think it's a great purchase if you work in an open layout environment where there's a bunch of noise going on around you and you want an all day/don't have to take off headphones for anything setup.
I would recommend these to people if asked.

Great for general work calls, not great for noise cancellation or music

I bought this headset when we had to start working from home for an extended time period during the pandemic. I needed a reliable headset for all my video calls with a long battery life. I used Bose headphones at my last job and loved them, so that's my point of comparison for a top quality product. Here's my review based on my specific use case and needs.
Use case: I use this with Mac products (2019 Macbook Pro, 2018 iPad Pro and my iPhone 10). I use it primarily for video calls on Google Hangouts and Zoom, plus regular phone calls.
Connectivity: EXCELLENT. I haven't had any problems with Bluetooth connectivity. When I turn it on, it immediately recognizes and connects to up to two devices. I have more issues with having my airpods autoconnecting to my Mac devices than these headphones!
Sound quality: GOOD. The sounds quality is fine for talking and listening purposes. I wouldn't use these if listening to music is your primary need (I'm comparing to the Bose QuietComfort headphones).
Noise cancelling: NOT THAT GOOD. It's only a little bit better than passive noise cancelling devices. However, I'm not that concerned about that because I take my calls in an isolated room. When I do have to be around external noises, it's good enough but not great compared to other devices with ANC.
Mute function: EXCELLENT. I love that you can instantly mute by swinging up your mic piece. I've been hearing about so many stories of 'hot mic' situations during this shelter in place / work from home situation. Other headsets require you to hit a keyboard function to mute, or you have to constantly check that you're on mute out of paranoia. With this headset, I like that you have a physical indicator to give you confidence that you're on mute, and you can quickly mute/unmute as your child intermittently interrupts your call.
Battery life: EXCELLENT. I love that it tells you how many hours are left when you turn on the headset. I can get two to three full working days of battery life with these.
Comfort: GOOD. The size of the ear pads are on the small side. They sit on your ear rather than encase them, so I can see why some people have complained about them. I've only noticed some discomfort after wearing them for an excessive amount of time. But I appreciate the amount of tension on the headset tightness. It's not too tight to give me a headache, but snug enough to not fall off when I bend over.
Overall, I'm happy about these mainly for the mute mic function and battery life but would have expected better ANC. My guess is that the effectiveness is limited to the fact that the ears are not completely covered.
