** Salbree Microwave Popcorn Popper, Silicone Popcorn Maker ** DOES THE JOB AND PERFECT POP CORN EVERY TIME **
Dan Y✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 9, 2017
This was a pleasant surprise to purchase and use this new Salbree Microwave Popcorn Popper. I was used to using my old hard plastic Presto popper that required to purchase those additional paper cup inserts at an added expense. NOW this popper doesn't require anything additional to make great popcorn.

Here's how it worked for my use:
** Added 1/3rd of cup of organic Pop corn kernels, didn't add any oils or anything.
** Pressed 3 minutes on my GE wall 1000 watt mounted microwave.
** Removed completed popped popcorn and added 1 tablespoon of coconut oil melted, then sprayed on some olive oil, then added a few shakes of Himalayan sea salt to taste.

Excellent, popped just as good as my old popper did, Perfect, with very few un-popped kernels on the bottom.

GREAT POPPER, flexible as all heck, but does the job and does it well! Easy to clean when needed, just liquid soap and a sponge needed.
Amazing

The new Salbree Silicone popcorn popper worked great last evening. The popper is sort of strange to deal with as it is floppy and not ridged plastic like one might expect of a thing like that.

No you can't use it in a regular oven or on top of the stove.

I followed the directions to the letter and the result was a full popper with big fluffy popcorn kernels. I did not use oil for the popping, but added some melted butter and salt before eating.

I used 1/3 of a cup of Orville Redenbacher popcorn, no oil and about 2 minutes on our microwave. Microwaves are not consistent in how they perform so go with how yours behaves.

Do NOT rely on the microwave timer or the built in popcorn setting. The directions are clear and correct: LISTEN for the last pop, count about five seconds and take the popper out of the microwave oven. No matter how much or how little time is involved.

Last night I had about six or eight old maids left in the popper, but that is not many for air poppers. Our old air popper always left a pile of un-popped corn in the bottom.

The popper was easy to clean after the popping. Just a quick wipe will do it, but if you like some soapy water can also be used. The popper is supposed to be dishwasher safe, but using it is really not necessary in my estimation.

If you do decide to buy one of the poppers you should know there are several knock offs and a couple of slightly cheaper prices for the same thing.
I recommend that you go for the one I bought (Salbree brand) since I know that one works, it has many and great reviews and it got here in two days with amazon.com PRIME.

The only negative thing I can say about our new purple popper is how it gets a tad hot (not burning hot) so it is best to use the little built in handles while taking the popper out of the microwave. The popper cools off quickly however.

This popper is a winner. Try it you will like it.
Worth every penny!

I was skeptical at first. I figured, since the bagged popcorn I have is really old, that it wouldn't pop at all. I decided to give it a whirl anyway, figuring on giving it another chance later, with "new" popcorn. The same amount of kernels popped as usual. It makes a nice amount of popcorn! Since I like plain popcorn, I haven't tried any of the recipes for fancy popcorn. At first, I was kind of confused by where the lid sits. hahaha I figured it out. And they aren't kidding when they say to lift the lid so that the steam goes AWAY from you. I did that, and was surprised at the amount of steam that came out. This makes really tasty popcorn!
Popcorn in 2 Minutes, No Oil, Quick & Efficient.

Works as advertised. 1/4 cup of popcorn in the bottom, no oil, my microwave's "popcorn" setting (2 mins) and the popcorn hit the occasional popping stage as the timer played out. Popcorn was done properly with only a small percent of unpopped kernels in the bowl bottom when I was done. No residue other than crumbs in the popper, all it's going to need is a rinse. I'm very happy to be eating popcorn without all the additives you can't pronounce that come in microwave popcorn from the supermarket.
Kind of Amazing!!

I understand this is just for popping popcorn, but I was seriously blown away at how well this thing works!! So all the 5-star reviews on here are legit. This is a much healthier option as opposed to using the bags of microwave popcorn. Those are absolutely horrible for you. I usually pop around 1/4 cup (40 - 50g) of popcorn kernels using absolutely no oil. It probably fills the bowl around 3/4 of the way full. You just pop it until you no longer hear popping for 5 seconds. I still use the popcorn button on my microwave and it works great. Then to keep it healthy (but add some flavor) I spray a little bit of canola oil (or you can use any of the healthy type oils that come in the cooking spray bottles). You lightly spray the popcorn and then I use some of the "Kernel Season's Popcorn Seasoning" ($1.99 per bottle at Walmart). Sprinkle some of the seasoning on there and the oil helps it sticks to the popcorn. Then I'll mix it up a little bit, spray a little more canola oil on it, then add a little more of the seasoning. Much healthier way to enjoy popcorn! Absolutely love this product!
