Good little heater

We put this in a bathroom with very high ceilings. Mounting it low pushes heat across the tile floor. For the money, this is a great little heater, Since we were doing remodel I had an electrician install it. Glad I did so they could hardwire and change the breaker to accommodate 220. Also ran it through the wall so no exposed wiring.
I really like the simplicity of this model. Really decent heat that you turn on when you want. Does what it's supposed to do without the funky digital bells and whistles. We started with their highest-end digital model and gave up on it and sent it back. Limited heat and impossible to program.
Simple mechanical control is the way to go. I also quite like this company and their customer service, Very responsive and helpful. When I told one of their customer people about the issues I was having he directed me to this model. While it's their initial model and hard plastic, it still looks good and it works flawlessly. Noise is not an issue.
If you want simple and dependable heat on demand, this is a great economical choice that looks good.

Great heater, even better customer service

I bought a few of these through the Amazon warehouse program - excellent heat and quiet operation. Of note one of the units had a nonfunctional fan while the rest were perfect. I called Stiebel Eltron and requested that they send me a new fan. The customer service was amazing. They decided to send me a new heater rather than a replacement fan, and it arrived the day after my call - truly outstanding!
Seem to work fine...but I worry about longevity

The heaters seem work fine. Wiring and mount is no harder / more complicated than the Dayton or King heaters we have used in the past.
However, the shell of the heater is plastic - which gives me a moments pause when we install one. If the shell is damaged I'd imagine we would have to emplacement the whole unit - versus being able to get a replacement t cover if it was Dayton or King.
On the plus side, we haven't had a single OBF, nor have we had a heater core fail in the field.

Worked great for 3 months - But Fantastic Customer Service

Loved it right up until last night when I woke to a room full of melted plastic stench. I had to open windows on a cold night to get the toxic fumes out. Thankfully I have a wood stove as well, so I only lost a few hours sleep and didn't die so all is well. Other than being $120 poorer that is.
While it worked it put out the same heat as any other 1500 watt plug in heater. I was willing to pay more for this because I like the wall mount and permanent wiring option. Perhaps the metal case version of this heater would have been worth the extra money, but at this point I don't really trust the brand enough to try it. Today I am off to my local store to buy a cheap plug in heater so I can get through the rest of the winter.
edit: I tore it down and found it was the fan motor that burned up. The heater core and the plastic case were all unharmed and fine. If I can find a replacement motor I will keep the heater. If not...
edit 2: Called US Distributor. Sending me a new unit & return box for old one no charge. It has been unusual for me to receive such friendly and fast service so I want to emphasize I will buy other products from Stiebel US with no worries.
