Not instpot brand! Real struggle to put on and stay on.

I gave a really bad review initially but changing it to 3 stars, now. I decided to dip the cover in boiling water using tongs. The cover fit after some struggle and stayed on instead of popping off after a few minutes like it did the first time. It's actually quite sturdy and will hold another smaller pot on top, in the fridge. However, its still a struggle to get the cover on but not as insane as it was before dipping in boiling water. So don't put it on pot with hot food as you may end up with a big accident. Let food cool first. And once you have it properly stretched it wont need another dunking in hot water. I'm going to buy instapot brand and try my luck with it.

This cover is simply a must-have for any Instant Pot owner. It is a VERY snug fit, clamping directly onto the lip of the pot insert.
The lid is quite heavy, so it's unlikely to crack or tear - it's snug to the point where you have to work a bit to get it onto the insert, though it comes off easily. It's silicone rubber, so it's dishwasher safe.
NB: do not heat the pot insert on a stove with this lid on. It will blow off, creating a serious burn/scald hazard.

If you're like my husband who sticks everything in refrigerator in the pot it was cooked in, this is the answer to the dilemma for a lid. The perfect answer would be to put the leftovers in a smaller container, but since he does the dishes, he's conservative about dirtying up another container, lol.

This lid fits my 6 qt InstaPot container perfectly... it has a nice tight seal that makes it easy to store leftovers in the fridge without fear of odors from whatever is inside overtaking the inside of the fridge. I doubt it would leak or come off if the pot were tilted or tipped over either - it's easy to take of and cleans up like new.

The lid is very pliable and thick. Once you get it on it is snug and fits well. You know the lid is not going to pop off. The lid has a lip which has to be stretched around the lip of the pot. The lip makes it hard for me to put it on but not excessively so. It isn't like plastic lids that snap on with an audible sound so you know it is on. . Once the Smarty lid is on, it is not coming off. I do not know if room temperature affects the lid but I keep my home fairly cool in winter so the lid might not be as pliable as it would be if my house warmer. Will I continue to use it? Absolutely.
