There were stains and bugs on this pad

This item arrived vacuum packed as stated, and I released it and put it in the dryer as suggested. When I removed it and tossed it on my bed I noticed stains all over the sides, they look like blood stains. I quickly pulled it off the bed and a small, dark something fell to the floor. With my phone flashlight I found it - the remains of some kind of bug. I am absolutely freaked out by this. I called amazon and they issued me a refund and told me to throw the bed pad away, but I am left with a lingering worry of bed bugs and no bed pad - clearly not a good purchase

Really love it. Researched for ever, got 2 a while back and ordered a 3rd one now. They are amazing, fluffy, thick, cool/not sweaty, really good product. Easy to wash and dry, lots of material to wrap easily around the mattress. Perfect. Price is great too, guessing they will last quite for ever.

I bought a terry cloth cotton, waterproof cover for $22, not really knowing what I was doing. It was a thin piece of crap. The plastic made the part of my body lying on the cover somewhat warm or hot. I spent much more on this one, probably more than I needed to spend. But this thing is very comfortable, breathes well, and doesn't make the part of my body lying on it hot. It is thick and has no plastic or vinyl sheet in the cover. They say that it IS water resistant to a certain extent. All I know is that it is soft and comfortable, and even though I may have spent too much, I would still buy this one over any other if I had it to do all over again. I love this thing. Unless you really need it, I would recommend against waterproof, and go with cotton and a cover that has thickness--spend the extra money if you can. I took the advice of the listing and washed and dried the cover before use, so that the filling would fluff out (after being removed from the vacuum bag). Or, you can just spread it out for a few days. The whole object is to be comfortable and sleep well. If I have any problem with the cover shifting or moving because of twisting and turning in bed, or any other problems, I will update this.

This item was either used or a knockoff. There was no tag, no label, no brochure with washing instructions. Just a handtyped and handcut slip of printer paper with a number on it. The inner box had been hand packed and taped up as well.
EDIT: I have reported this directly to Amazon as a potential health risk. Others have commented on stains, bugs, etc. and the total lack of any documentation certainly seems to raise further concerns.

We put this mattress pad over the Milliard Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper and it is pure comfort! We didn't need to air it out for long at all before we put them both on the bed. The only thing I would caution is that the package contents are under pressure, so be prepared for it to quickly expand while you're opening the package. I didn't think about that and was a little startled. Lol If performance changes later on, I'll modify the rating, but so far we are so happy with putting the two purchases together.
