No installation instructions, no gaskets, no o-rings. What a foxtrot rip/off! $500 down the drain
UPDATE: The problems were with the "˜plumber' that I had install it, not the manufacturer.
I have done many simple plumbing projects myself but I got lazy and had a plumbing company install it. That was a mistake. If you are reasonably proficient with plumbing, do it yourself. Some tips. Make CERTAIN that where the UV light is installed that there is room to remove and replace the bulbs. This is VERY IMPORTANT. I am going to have to rework the installation to allow for this.
This filter and UV light setup has changed our well water from very stinky (Hydrogen Sulfide aka H2S) rotten egg smell to water that is pure, clear and good tasting! Highly recommended. But again plan the installation ahead of time.

its i a good unit only problem i had was a leak i had to fix on their drain that was installed at the factory and the uv light came in a separate shipment and took 3 days longer than amazons delivery date

Awesome product by an awesome company. Some people complained about it making the water too hot, I have not seen any issues like that. Even left overnight, the water is warm at best for a little burst just after you turn it on. My only complaint is that the light section of the fixture has brackets that require it to be mounted in a specific way. In my crawlspace it wasn't possible, but I was able to use hanger straps to just anchor the whole thing to the floor joist. Not quite as sturdy as I'd like doing it that way, but it works and has gotten all the funk out of our water! Plus the dual bulbs are great, I am going to stagger putting in new ones, one every 6 months instead of both every year, so that way one is always newer and therefore a bit stronger. The company is also super prompt if you have any issues. Great experience all around.

After 10 years with our well, we suddenly had a positive test for bacteria in our well water (160-feet deep). We had a major water company tell us to replace our water softener and install their potassium permanganate injector and filter and an RO system...cost about $9,000. I showed the salesperson the door immediately as the product was over-priced and not what was required (I do know quite abit about well water and filtration). I decided to keep our water softener as it works great and does the job it is to do, but I searched for a good UV light and filter setup. I chose the 2-bulb UV system even though it is more powerful than what we need, because the second bulb would also act as a backup should the other one die, and we would get twice as much UV power into our water - for that added bit of safety. The all stainless steel housing is great, and we do not seem to have the "hot water" complaint some do, but it's likely because our incoming water incoming is extremely cold.
Our TDS before was 365 and is 345 after - even though these filters are NOT intended to reduce TDS, only particulates. But you can see a distinct improvement in clarity even though our water was just a bit "hazy" at times.
The only "issue" we had, and this is a minor one that is easily remedied, is that the threads for the inputs and outputs of the filter housings really need to be HEAVILY Teflon taped and HEAVILY "puttied" as they are very coarse threads and have a tendency to leak (even for a professional plumber like my nephew, who did all the joining).
But, the end result is safe and clean water at a total cost of under $500 versus a huge, space-taking system costing over $9000. Oh, and the annual maintenance of this UV system and filter replacements runs about $275/year versus over $700/year plus chemicals for the alternative we were offered by the "professionals" THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT FROM A GREAT COMPANY, and I would recommend it to everyone! The only change I am contemplating doing maybe next year is to use the 1-micron sediment and the 1-micron carbon block filters instead of the 5-micron ones provided in the package.

Very good product except the UV bulbs heat the water well over 120 degrees. I did not know UV light could heat water to that level. Would have been nice to have known. One reviewer stated he installed the water softener after the UV to help cool the water. I am not sure if this is recommended but it seems it would not matter. Anyway, I had my water tested after I installed the UV. It came back free of Coliforms, unlike pre-installation test. Excellent product. Four stars instead of 5 because of their neglect to mention how hot the water gets.
