2011 Ultra Limited - Good and Bad
Jason Murphy✓ Verified Purchase•June 6, 2018
Pleasantly surprised at the look and feel for the price. I didn't have to use any of the included adapters, as the lights plugged into the OEM wiring in the bike. The headlight and included adapter ring fit perfectly, but I needed a larger screw to put the stock trim ring back on, as the hole in the new adapter ring was too big. Also, disappointingly, the passing lights did not fit properly into the housings. The metal nesting rings that held the old lights in are not big enough to fit around the new ones and they just flop around inside the housing. I'll be figuring out how to rectify this, but in the meantime only the headlight is installed. A little bummed, since I'm heading out on a 600+ mile 4-day trip on Monday and would have liked the extra light output.
*Update - A $60 set of HD trim rings (pictured) for the passing lamps solved my fitment issue. They are designed to push the stock lights back into the housings by adding foam to the inside portion of the ring, so it was perfect to snug the new ones up.
Headlight Aim: While I was buying the new trim rings, I dropped my bike off at the express lane at my local dealership to have them aim the headlight. When I got back on to ride, I noticed the light shook a little more than I'd like and when I got home, I discovered that because the top adjustment screw had been backed out about 50%, the spring that holds the headlight steady was nearly stretched to its limit, thus not providing good support to hold the light steady, so I will probably be replacing that spring as well.
At the end of the day, I saved myself about $500 by going this route and while I had to do a little playing around to get things to fit correctly, I'm pretty happy with the product. I would definitely recommend to someone who doesn't mind having to do some minor tweaking.

Auxiliary Lamps Don't Fit

Had some trouble installing the aux lamps on my 2013 CVO Electra Glide Ultra Classic. No instructions/directions or any other type of installation data included in the kit. If I use the OEM nesting ring I can't get the OEM trim ring to go back on. If I take the nesting ring off the lamp is too loose in the housing. Seller contacted me via email to ask if I had any installation problems. They told me my particular model was "a special (?) one" and that is why I am having issues. I read some of the reviews and looked at the video that was on the page on Amazon and saw that the customer who recorded that video had the same issues I was having. But I have to commend them for contacting me directly. They offered a partial refund of $40 so that I can purchase different housings. I'm going to accept the $40 but instead of changing the housings I believe I will modify the lamps themselves to fit. Or maybe replace the nesting ring with some other gasket type material. I would probably have given them a better rating except for the issues.
Plug and play for the 06 Electra Glide Ultra Classic

I have a 2006 Electra Glide Ultra Classic. The installation ring that comes with the new 7-inch LED headlamp is attached to the light when it arrives. I simply took out the old headlight and had to remove the original existing ring that was inside the housing.
The fog lamps/passing lamps, were easily installed. You have to use the metal rings on the back of the original headlamps in order for the new lights to seat securely, otherwise there will be some movement of the lights inside the housing.
The only issue that I had which prevents me from giving this 5 stars is minor. The original screw that holds the outside trim ring in place is too small for the hole in the new installation ring that come with the kit. Also the hole in the installation ring is not threaded. There are no instructions and I did not see anyone mention this in any of the reviews I read. You can either purchase a self tapping screw at the hardware store, which will in turn will make the hole in the trim ring larger. Thinking about this, if I ever want to switch back to the original halogen light bulbs (in which I don't think I ever will) it could cause an issue with the original screw being too small. So I purchased a stainless steel screw and lock nut with J-B weld steel epoxy. I then put the screw through the whole of the new installation ring that came with the new headlight kit. I put the nut on the back and tightened it so there were no gaps between the nut in the installation ring tab. I then put the epoxy for Steel around the outside of the nut and against the back of the tab the nut seats against, making sure I did not get any epoxy on the threads of the screw. I purchased the epoxy that takes 12 to 15 hours to cure, it is the strongest and it works perfectly. Other than that the lights are plug-and-play with the 06 Electra Glide Ultra Classic. First time I got to ride at night, I noticed a dramatic difference in brightness on the road. I am very happy with my purchase!

Product is very bright it is plug and play very easy install. The only thing I will say is I could not install the original retainers for the fog/running lights they would not allow me to fit the trim with the retainer on. Had to do away with them and it appears to be fine, it holds them in place with the trim. The trim has 2 rubber gaskets so it stays on fine. I have a 2014 fatboy the headlight was easy too. They look great and work like a champ. Great price too.
Putting Harley Parts on a Japanese Bike

This light is awesome. I purchased the Sktyants 7" housing to go with it, and the assembly was a little weird to get apart, but once I got the Truckmall DOT 7" Daymarker in it, I could feel my project approaching completion. I ride a Naked 2009 Yamaha FZ6R. I stripped this bike down so it would be easier to work on, so installing this on the bike wasn't a problem. The light looks awesome and is wicked bright. Can't wait for the weather to stop storming so I can go ride.
