I had a hard time figuring what rating to give this one. First, it took them nearly a month to ship an item that was labeled as in stock. To be fair it did still arrive by the listed date at the time of purchase.

Here is where it gets difficult. The set up came with a water tester which is cool. I had no idea the water was as bad as it is where I live. The filter did reduce the levels to 0 on the tester. This part is kind of amazing. What's not amazing it the filter is done after only a week of use. I barely filled the unit twice before the filter was shot. The water is now testing the same as out of the tap and tastes sour. Design wise you need to order a new tap as the one that it comes with is utter trash. While being an attractive unit, the hole for the tap is about 1" higher than it needs to be meaning you will leave about 1/5th of the water in the tank. Why?

Purchased this in April, and had been happy with it until I noticed chrome/ metal shavings in my water this morning. I dumped it, got another glass and filled it, same result. After examining the spigot, I found that the cheap chrome plating on the inside is flaking off and contaminating the water I just poured!! I wouldn't buy until this is replaced with a stainless tap or be prepared to replace yours if you already own this unit.

This is a substantial improvement over the 1.4 gallon plastic ZeroWater dispenser. It always bothered me that I was filtering my water down to zero ppm, and housing that water in a plastic tank. I love the glass and chrome; it is sharp and clean-looking as well it should be, being a prominent fixture in the kitchen. I'm glad I read others' reviews, because I purchased a metal spigot in parallel with this purchase, and installed that one prior to first use. Throw the junky included plastic spigot away, it will cause nothing but trouble, and the simple act of repeated downward pressure on the handle is sure to break the seal in the long run. Zero Water peeps, this was NOT the right place to cut costs on a slick unit like this! You should have gone all-in. I'm giving you five stars anyway, because I love the product. Setup was quick and flawless. My greatest concern will be cleaning a glass vessel this large as it's all smooth edges with nothing to grip on to. I did notice a small chip along the upper rim, but didn't feel it would compromise the unit in any way. I am so happy not to be filling this thing every half hour like the old one. Larger holding tank and larger fill tank make this much easier to use. Great purchase, and if you use a lot of water and are still using the old plastic model, upgrade NOW. Just be sure to purchase a real spigot.

WOW! We just received our Zero 40 cup dispenser, and I immediately put it together. Still waiting on the non-plastic spigot, the one included is obviously crap. I tested my Brita-filtered water for TDS, non-cold, standing out for an hour, and it was 79 TDS. I just tested the new Zero product, and TaDa, the water is ZERO TDS. Pumped! We drink alot of water in the house, and I'm a bit paranoid about all the stuff that gets put in it, so now I'm very happy to have my new Zero 40 cup Dispenser!

I have been using Zerowater filtration system for quite awhile, but did not like the plastic pitchers. I came across this 40 gallon dispenser when looking for a replacement. This is the best system and the glass container is perfect. I did not get the filter on perfectly so some water leaked out over the top after fixing this my reading was 0.7. I will now purchase the tumbler set for when I am away from home, unfortunetly the tumbler is plastic but will buy as I dislike paying for bottled water. I would highly recommend this product.
