This motor runs a great distance on a single 100Ah LiFePo4 battery. Works perfectly in salt water. It gets my 10' RIB dinghy moving up to 4 mph. You're not going to get your dinghy to plane with this, but you'll be able to easily lift it with one arm, is small and easy to stow, it'll never need maintenance, oil, nor gas. Add a rechargeable battery and go.

I had an trolling motor before it was good but nothing like this one. I love the battery meter directly on the handle. You can be out to long in this one. I fished for 4 hours with mines the first time. Battery level didn't drop pass the first drain level. Moves my John boat around the lake effortlessly. I am pleased with this purchase.

Bought it for my canoe. I had to add a wood block to mount it on the side as mounting it behind myself was not a great idea. Maybe if the handle was longer I guess. I had a motor mount, but that didn't work very well either. So I mounted it on the side of the canoe in front of where I sit and that gives me a better range of control. If you put your battery in the center of the canoe it helps with weigh distribution . The cables are just long enough for that. The clip that holds the motor level is weak and the motor will pull away. It cannot direct the movement of the canoe by itself. You need to use your paddle to rudder in the direction you want to go. Other than that, it got alot of get up and go. No rust. I fish in salf water. Good luck.
