Update 3/15/18: I called Brightech today to follow up on the several fit-and-finish issues for which I deducted two stars in my review. I've summarized their responses below. I recommend you watch my video for context.

1. On the knife-like sharpness of the edge on the chrome piece connecting the lamp and rod: the rep checked a sample Leaf lamp in the office and agreed with my description of the problem, but said he thought it unlikely any change would be made. I haven't cut myself on it yet, but then I'm being very careful when adjusting the shade.

2. On the misaligned tube sections: I got a slightly ambiguous response as to whether this was a known or prevalent issue -- or just one lamp that slipped through whatever inspection process they have at the factory in China.

3. On the mismatched brass finishes on the tubes: he sounded surprised, although mine was not the first comment here citing that issue.

If this lamp were on full view in my home, I would be returning it in the hope of getting one with matching brass finishes and smooth seams. Since those defects are hidden behind the headboard -- and because I suspect any replacement might have the same issues -- I've decided to keep it. Let me emphasize, though, aside from these points, I love the lamp.

A few weeks ago, I decided it was finally time to replace the floor lamp behind the headboard in my bedroom, and somehow, Brightech's LED leaf lamp came to my attention. I found it here on Amazon and frankly, was impressed by the hundreds of 5-star reviews.

I loved the fact that the LED light was scalable at three different intensities, but I had a hard time confirming whether at its brightest, it would match or exceed the 100-watt iridescent bulb I was used to. In the end, I placed the order. It was about $60 with free shipping and it arrived in good shape a few days later.

I can definitely confirm that assembling the unit was simple and took only a few minutes. There were three pole sections that connected the light assembly and the base, and the power cord was pre-threaded through all of them. It was just of matter of screwing the parts together and hand-tightening them. Couldn't have been simpler.

Now let me say that overall, I like this lamp. It's attractive and has a modern, minimalist, and very functional design. I was relieved to find that at its highest setting, the 12.5 watt LED light provides ample illumination for reading, even with these aging eyes. I'm guessing it has at least the equivalent of a 100 watt iridescent bulb "“ maybe more.

The adjustable metal shade means the light is pretty directional, but I find it spills enough lumens around my 13x16 foot bedroom to make it cheerful at night, just on its own, even on the lowest setting.

Now I would be remiss if I didn't mention several quality control issues. One is the fact that when I screwed the pole pieces together, the seams were not entirely flush or smooth. And the brass finish, especially on one of the rods, really didn't match the others. This would be more of an annoyance if I had the lamp out in the open, but I don't. It's almost entirely behind the padded headboard, where these anomalies don't show.

There's also one other thing that caught my attention. The chrome piece that connects the shade and the horizontal arm has a very sharp edge. I haven't actually cut myself in adjusting the lamp, but the risk seems real. They really ought to address that.

I'm thinking about getting another of these lamps for the living room, and I'm hoping it will be defect-free. If not, the company says it stands behind its products, so I guess I could return it, presumably with free shipping.

So for now, I'm giving my LED leaf light three stars out of five. It has a lot going for it, and should I re-order, I'm counting on getting one that passes Brightech's inspection "“ and mine.

No wonder this lamp gets a 4.9 overall review, this is a gem. Just got it yesterday in extremely timely fashion through Amazon Prime. The family immediately loved the features and flexibility. The three-option finger-touch button allows for Bright (and it is), Medium (just right), and Dim (as back lighting for romantic moments or such). And by the way, the touch-control button is at the top of the stand near the light --- so lil' tykes can't send SOS signals with it.
Two Thumbs Way Up!!

I was searching for a LED reading lamp for my bedroom, when I stumbled upon this item. I was impressed with all of the five star reviews, so I placed my order. I absolutely love it! The design is great. I especially like the lighted four position button on the top of the lamp. It is so convenient to switch it from high to medium to low and then, off. Oh, and assembly was so easy, it doesn't even need any instructions. I'm looking forward to years of use. If anything goes wrong, I will surely update this review. Thanks for reading.

Love this lamp. Super bright light, easy to set up, love the touch on-off-dim.
Would have given it 5 stars except the pole is very thin- dime size around and already is leaning a bit.

Nice product for the cost. It's sleek. Takes up little space. Weighted bottom keeps it where you want it. I wish the brightness button was somewhere more accessible. I had to read here to find out where it was located! There is no instruction manual except for how to assemble,which is pretty self-explanatory. I'm glad I purchased it.
