Things the instructions don't tell you

I've only had this item for a little while and so far, now that I know how it works, I like it.
PROS:
I didn't break the bank, which was important to me. It fits under my Veri-table well. It is low impact, which is important to me. It seems sturdy, which is also important to me.
CONS:
What the instructions don't tell you is how to actually get the counter to work. IT ONLY works when the height knob is in its HIGHEST setting. Anything less and the magnets (which are not mentioned anywhere in the instruction booklet at all) will not pass each other properly and the counter will not turn on. I had to contact customer service, who responded quite quickly--I appreciated that--to find out. It was a bit of back and forth, but eventually, I figured it out. The other thing, for my item at least, is the tension/height knob does NOT stay in place. It unscrews itself and reduces the tension so the step tracker stops working because the magnets (which are nowhere in the booklet..have I mentioned that?) do not pass each other properly. It's a cascade effect. I have had to rig up a paperclip to keep it from turning and lessening the tension with every step. Either I need to get a nut that fits or one that was supposed to be in the box was not. The counter will also NOT work if you don't take complete steps as in if you don't go all the way up and down.
Now that I have it working the way I need it to, I would recommend it. I would also recommend to the manufacture that they update their instruction booklet to include the specifics I mentioned. I did let customer service know that, too, but we all know how far those conversations go.

Works really well but on the expensive side

Sturdy! I appreciate the convenience of having a way to burn calories at home while watching TV or listening to a book on audible; especially functional when I'm pressed for time but need to exercise"¦the last one I purchased was $35 (different brand) and lasted a couple of years"¦hope this one lasts twice as long!!
Portable.

Currently, I am 220. Normal person, not a athletic alot all. I have an bug butt, heavy chest and some nice thighs. This is my honest review.
The stepper is great for someone's second step in their fitness journey. It is very easy to use, however it dose have some tension to push down on the step. It as easy as some make it look. But it would be a great fit in your second step of someone's journey. The stepper came all setup for me, the package is easy to pickup. The stepper it's self is very light weight. I regret not buying the things for your hands, I would recommend buying that. I'd also buy a mate or a throw rug to go under the stepper, it will dig the wood floors.
It is a very good workout, you feel it right away. I feel that it dose more for my muscle then walking would. I love it.
I would not recommend this product to someone with bad knees.

Secure all the knobs before using!

I used it only three times before one of the knobs came off. I'm not really sure where it came from, but it was very disappointing. The few times I used it, I did like how easy it was to use. I will hopefully be able to fix it and get back to it.
