Been having alot of trouble sleeping. Light sleeper, so little sounds disturb me. Mentioned to my Pulmonologist during OV year ago. She recommended a sound machine. I did my research and found the LectroFan at a reasonable price and features. I found it amazing with alot of different sounds (love ocean sound), controlled volume, and small in size (Avg Women's hand). Takes up very little room on nightstand. It has definitely helped with noises and a more satisfying sleep. In having discussions with other people, many have and use sound machines. I would recommend. Amazing! 😊

My ~4-year-old sound machine with an actual fan inside had developed a mechanical whirring noise that was very distracting and didn't let me sleep. I was so disappointed, because I loved it before that happened. So last night at 1 a.m., in my too-quiet room that I couldn't fall asleep in, I searched on Amazon for something else and came across this brand. I wasn't sure I'd like a digital sound machine after enjoying the actual fan noise, but with 22 sounds at all pitches I decided to give it a try.

I have tinnitus that is getting worse, and I need a sound machine that will mask that pitch and allow me to sleep. I didn't get to try it out last night, but it arrived at 7 a.m. (!) and I went through all the sounds and checked off a few favorites that cover my tinnitus. One medium-brown noise in particular started putting me to sleep! I'm so pleased with the variety of sounds and range of volume that I just ordered a second one for my office to help me focus and be more productive.

I plan to travel with this, too. It's lightweight and compact and will fit in my bag. Some reviewers think the device is ugly, but I think it's adorable and has a cool futuristic vibe.

Let me start with what for me, and my personal needs and likes, were the pros. It is well made, logically designed with good features and sounds good. I like the fact that there are only TWO categories of sound - white noise and fans. I have had machines with white noise, fan noise, birds, crickets, storms, babbling brooks, lullabys, pianos, and ocean sounds. Most were cheaply made and poor performers. I am only interested in the white noise variations and different fan noises. I don't use the machine for covering up loud disturbances but rather to generate a soothing, constant sound to help me fall asleep and stay asleep. I have a minor tinnitus issue and have found that a low volume, soft low frequency, constant sound works best for me. That's were the lower frequency white noise and fans with a constant volume are all I need in a noise machine. I am returning this unit, not because of any serious flaw that most people wouldn't like, but rather because of my particular needs. Not wanting to cover up annoying sounds and only looking for only a very subtle background noise, I found that the sounds I most prefer couldn't be played at a low enough volume for me. Most folks want MORE volume, not me! If the volume would go a little lower, I would have rated this unit 5 stars and been perfectly happy with it. I honestly believe that most people would be pleased with this unit and I can recommend it with the single caveat about the volume which I am particularly sensitive to.

This white noise machine is taller than our last one which wore out after several years. Once we found the right setting for us we have both liked it. There are many settings to choose from. On the old one I could turn it off with my foot as it had a large button and did not thing his one would be the same as the button is smaller and near the other settings but it turned out that I can easily turn it off with my foot every time. It is taller but has a smaller footprint on the floor which is nice.
