Updated 4/15/2018: Over 2 years use. Love it so much bought a 2nd one a year later for my sweetie's house. Stainless steel unit not the model listed (BV1900ST) but BV1901GW. Same unit, different number. My 2nd one was all black BV1901PW, at 1/2 the price.

Difference is the coffee filter unit on the GW rides on the carafe. On the PV it fits into a slot on the unit, so you can remove the carafe without moving the grounds. NO OTHER DIFFERENCE. I prefer the PW (cheaper one), as I don't have to mess with the grounds just to pour the first cup.

Can load 44 oz water without spilling, which is more than mfg says. But, the carafe holds 56 oz! I made 48 oz. by putting in enough ground coffee, then letting the 44 oz run a bit, added 4 more oz. of water during brewing. Perfect! Don't see why you can't make a full 56 oz.

Old review: Brews at 200+ degrees which gives a great cup of coffee. I roast my own coffee, so know a bit about it. And fast! 7 minutes for full pot. I over fill the reservoir to get 42 ounces using 6 coffee measures of fine grind. Bought one for my sweetie too!

I have to mark this 1 star -- was unable to test product as it arrived damaged twice. Both arrived new, but one the grinds tray handle was cracked off and the replacement unit from amazon the carafe arrived cracked.

I might try a third time, but it is clear that this is just a cheaper version of the more expensive brother -- while this is obvious from the plastic parts what is disappointing is the quality of the product has taken a huge hit. 2 different units shipped fine (no damage on either boxes) the unit arrived in complete brand new packaging, but due to the poor quality of plastic and glass the bonavita still arrived damaged.

Best coffee maker I've ever had. Easy to use, easy to clean, and makes great coffee. The warming pad stays on for just the right amount of time before shutting off, and the beep when the coffee is finished brewing is useful.

I just received my Bonavita 1901PW and it made a delightful cup of coffee, smooth, rich deep flavor, not bitter. I used Gevalia Columbian, using 3 coffee scoops for the six cup mark. I had no problem with the basket staying in place as others stated as this model clearly has a catch that locks the basket in place. The 40 minute warmer plate is not an issue with me since keeping coffee heated for too long dramatically alters the flavor. There was a double beep when brewing stopped and almost immediately the coffee stopped dripping. I would recommend this coffee maker to friends and will buy again.

No frills and makes good coffee. Probably won't find anything else under $100 that makes coffee this good. Unfortunately some features are missing that even my $20 coffee maker has like timing. Oh and build quality could be better. Made coffee this morning and got grounds everywhere because I bumped the basket with the grounds with the carafe. Shouldn't be so loose for that to happen. I guess lesson learned dump the grounds before pouring
