When I was a girl, I bought a Lane hope chest which I still have and use. I wanted to carry on the tradition with my daughters but since Lane is out of business, I decided to take a chance with this company, and I am so glad I did. I ordered this for my daughter for Christmas and on the evening of the 19th a beautiful 9-hole frame was delivered to my door, and I got a notification that the hope chest had been delivered. I was so confused but then realized that I was sent someone else item by accident instead of the chest. I was panicking! This was my daughter's main gift for Christmas! I reached out to the company via Amazon and told them what the situation was. They told me to keep the frame as an apology for the mistake and told me they were sending another chest. I was so stressed out because I just knew it wouldn't arrive in time but on Christmas Eve the new chest was delivered! It was packaged up really well and the chest was in perfect shape. When my daughter opened it up Christmas morning she gasped with delight. The chest is so beautiful, and the finish is so perfect, and the lock is so easy to use. It is definitely an heirloom piece. My husband inspected it and said it is very well made. I am so grateful for the wonderful customer service of this company and for the amazing quality of this chest!

The media could not be loaded. The appearance and overall craftsmanship of this piece are very nice. However, there was a chip on the inside, but it's hidden when the cover is closed. The bigger issue is what the manufacturer means by "anti-slam hinges" because the video shows the lid lowers slowly until about the halfway point, and then it crashes down.
