This product is exactly as described. I used it to install a parking area for trucks and trailers that was a grassy area. We scraped all of the grass and topsoil about 4-6" deep and covered the area with this fabric and 3/4 gravel about the same thickness as was removed. Some settling has occurred but I expect this to last a long time, the fabric makes for a solid foundation.

This is definitely the best of the best hands down weed barrier I have ever seen. If you're looking for a great product by this product you will not be disappointed very heavy duty and I feel confident that it will not let the water through the top and will help control my extreme weed problem. It does not let water through the material even though you can't see through it a little bit but I think that will help control my weed problem in my front yard. So far it's working really well I've only seen clumps of grass growing where dirt may be settled underneath my rocks that I placed when I washed them off and there's been only maybe one or two weeds in the middle of my walkway where I placed this product! Works way better than a store bought weed barrier!

Most people put down gravel and then need to do it again in a few years because it sinks into the dirt. I placed this fabric down before the gravel on my new driveway and the gravel is stable and not sinking...even during the heavy rains.
I returned it. Does not seem to be very permeable.

Armorlay seems to be very tough stuff. They do not list the oz. per sq. yard in their description. I bought a 6' x 300' roll of this material for my garden. Upon inspection I did not think it was very permeable. It is a tight weave. That is why I returned it. Other reviewers also noted that it is not very permeable. Bob Vila's web site recommends Hoople landscape fabric. It is described as very permeable and 5oz per sq yard. Do the math with the Armorlay and at 830.4 oz. per 200 sq yards it comes out to 4.15 oz per sq yard, not quite as heavy as the 5 oz. Hoople. Bob Vila only recommends using a weed blocker in between planting rows, not on where you grow things.
