So out of the box they were in good shape. They only had one spot that rubbed my ankle for about 8 hours during the break in. It wasn't enough to leave a mark and really only an occasional annoyance. The traction is decent, and I didn't note any issues walking through snow or across small patches of ice. I will update as the boot sees more use and in different conditions. FYI, I don't work in them aggressively outdoors and really just bought them for their EH rating for a requirement on building entrance. They are a bit klunky in appearance compared to what you might think from the pictures, if that's important to you. They are also true to size with just enough room for a thick sock if you need the extra warmth.
