Great set but it was missing some pieces.

I followed the instructions that ebd posted in the reviews and that was incredibly helpful. You definitely have to split them all up and get them put together right away like he suggested. This was a gift to my young nephews and I knew they would need it set up first. Unfortunately two pieces were missing. One steering wheel and in place of the bar for the largest tires was a bar for the smaller tires so that makes one set of the monster truck type tires almost useless unless they get creative. Not a terrible set though, I'm thinking I might get another one day. Especially if they rectify the issue with the pieces. We'll see.
Great set but does not make 18-20 cars as advertised.

We are having a Lego party for my son and one of the activities is to build your own race car for a derby during the party. I bought two sets of this product because of all of the sets of tires/wheels/steering wheels advertised. Upon sorting all of the pieces, each set only comes with 13 steering wheels and other necessary pieces to build a vehicle. Still a very nice product, but will not make as many cars as advertised.
Love this set - I've included an assembly guide

Our set came without instructions (another review mentions directions but we only received the bag as shown). I am still giving this 5 stars because this provides a ton of wheels and building options that are sadly missing in our other Lego sets. My almost 4 year old has been happily making trains with many many wheels and various cars and monster trucks. I'd like to share my learnings here about the set up. Because of the lack of directions it took a good bit of trial and error. **If you purchase this: I STRONGLY suggest you separate all the pieces out immediately, and follow these directions and get all wheel parts together before they scatter! Trust me!

There are four configurations:
1) tiny thin steering wheels that go on their white wheel posts
2) 2 tiny wheels that each have a wheel center insert which has a *small* hole that connect to the black 2x2 plates with small tubes on BOTH sides. They are assembled so the black 2x2 has one wheel on each side, with each wheel's "spoke" decoration side out. You can put two white wheels or two black wheels or mix and match, your choice. They should click together nicely.
3) 1 tiny wheel with an insert that has a larger round hole in the center. This connects to a tube that is rounded on both ends which connects to a 2/2 with one innie tube underneath. This should click together nicely.
4) 1 large wheel with a grey center. The flat side of this, which actually looks more like the outerfacing "spoke" side of the small wheels, is the inside here. The small tube that is round on one side and has more of a + shaped hole on the other, goes into the + shaped hole on the flat side of the big wheel. It is tempting to put the tube into the deeper hole on the other side. Do not do that. It is tempting to fit a smaller wheel into the deeper hole on the other side. Do not do that. Although it will fit well, you will then have fewer wheels. Once you have the wheel together with its grey insert and the + end of the tube into the flat side of the wheel, put the rounded part of the tube into a 2/2 with one innie tube underneath. This is one arrangement that is not a very solid connection, but it stays together pretty well. If there is a better arrangement, I'd love to hear it.

You can attach the 2x2s in #3 and #4 on under side of the larger plates. Configuration #2 is going to get you a skinny car/train because the maximum width is 2.
Good luck and enjoy!

Legos are really tiny you do need to be carefull kids must be atleastn8 and up to make sure to not put them in their mouth
LOTS of unusual pieces needed for builds

This was a good product for what it is. Are they as substantial as Legos? No, however, they're substantial enough AND they are not the usual "bricks" you usually get when you want more pieces. There are doors and windows and other needed but unusual items. This was a good find to add to my nephews collection.
