Fires up with super low temps. Game changer if your slacking on a new one. Only burned a full weeks of fires with it. It better last.
Faulty product

I believe something is wrong with the coating on my combustor, it will not react at all. I burn a lot of wood and change my combustor every December to maintain peek efficiency. This year I decided to give this brand a try. They are about 50 cheeper. I used this combustor for only a few days and reinstalled the old one. Unfortunately midwesthearth has not returned my email. It's a shame because I was really hoping it was a good product.
If your wood buring stove smokes a lot when it's up to temp, check the catalytic Combustor!!!

Fit like a hand in a glove in the new refractory I also installed when I rebuilt my Encore 2550. I also installed the Condar Catalytic Combustor Probe
thermometer through the factory made hole in the back. The combustor seams to work fine creating a lot of extra heat from the back on the stove like it used too with very little smoke from the chimney. Average temps were easy to control between 900 and 1300 degrees F.
If it last's through 3 winters here in central Texas burning primarily oak when the temp gets below 45F, I'll consider purchasing another when needed.

This wood stove Catalytic Combustor met all of our needs and with Amazon Prime, did so in a timely manner. The previous unit started to fail on a Saturday morning, we looked to see if Amazon carried them, and they did. We ordered the unit and on Monday it was in our mailbox. We had heat within an hour. The time element is critical when heating with wood stove only. And it's doing a good job months later. Thank you.
