Installed two of these, and overall, I like them. They come with everything you need in a weather proof outlet cover. Couple issues I have... Breaking out the cord passthrough is a bit tricky -- feels like you're gonna crack the whole thing, but does eventually separate as it's supposed to. Also, latching feature is a little weak. If you mount this with the hinge on the bottom, you might find that the latch won't keep it closed. Finally, while this does allow you to add a lock or zip tie, I wouldn't consider this a security feature -- but probably enough to keep the kids out of it. Now I just hope that the clear part doesn't yellow over time.

The item arrived on time with no directions which could be troublesome for some persons if they have not installed one of these for. This is a outlet cover that does have slots that would allow you to pretty extension cord or power cord through. However the cover is made out of such cheap plastic if you pride too heavy on the tabs you definitely break the cover.Instead I used a dremel drill, and small standard to smooth out the area. The tabs themselves are definitely not easily removed regardless of the cost of material. There is a whole you could drill out for lock as well. It does come with two separate pairs of screws. As well as the back packing material on the plug does have a seal for weather. The locking catch for the cover is extremely weak if this cover is open and close too often I catch will break and will no longer keep it secure. We're going to install a small lock in the hole once we drill it out simply because I know this catch is going to break eventually. For the price you can't go wrong, with little of their handiwork you can make this work however the plastic material of the cover does make me worry about impact and how will it will hold up if it wasn't direct weather.

These are what I ordered but I was surprised when I installed it that I only had one option as far as the opening. If you install the cover for a vertical mount you can only use the top hinge and the fittings on the clear cover are on the opposite side of where the hinge fittings are on the wall piece. The other covers I have purchased allow you to change the hinge pin to open the cover up or to the side.

Good price, can be mounted sideways or top side up, several back plates for multiple type of installations (GFCI, switch, receptacle etc.), excellent back seals and enough screws and mounting options for almost any kind of installation.

One of the tapped holes in the existing waterproof box was damaged and needed to be replaced, but due to the multiple mounting options, that was not necessary and I was able to finish the GFCI outlet installation without buying and installing a new box.

Bought these to use down at the Gulf Coast. Outlets and receptacles are mounted on our boat house located over the water. The salt water corrosion has been extremely bad on regular outlets and receptacles down there. Realize the weatherproof gangs are not going to stop the corrosion but will certainly help retard it to extend the life of the outlets. These units arrived on a timely basis and were as described.
