They looked good. I didn't see any peices broken like others stated. It's a gift for my husband he's mentioned wanting to try wood carving. Also he's wanting to do some fancy pumpkin carving and these should work awesome for detail. Im not sure how they work yet but I've used gildabrand before and I was pleased. Fast delivery.

I usually do a lot of research before purchasing most anything but there wasn't alot out there on this. For the money these are okay,very light duty, feel flimsy, and probably sell them and save my money for something better. Sometimes I feel like I got more than my moneys worth on certain tools i buy,but this isn't one of them. I'm glad I didn't pay more.

I have been woodcarving for a number of years and have needed a nice collection of smaller wood carving chisels. I have 4 Dockyards but they went out of business last year.
I am very leery when it comes to ordering cheap sets because, in the past, penny-pinching buys complete crap. For some reason this time around I figured what the Hell and ordered this set. If it was crap I wouldn't be out very much money.
Well, they arrived in Prime fashion in 2 days. The 1st chisel I wanted to check out of course was the V tool and unlike other reviews, mine wasn't chipped but the sharpening was done improperly. I was a bit disappointed thinking " here we go.". But I'll tell you what, I am extremely surprised at the quality of these chisels as a set. I honed them all briefly on my Flexcut honing blocks and used a majority of them last night. Each of the chisels worked well beyond what I had expected and they all held their sharp edge extremely well. I must admit that I am extremely pleased and shocked at what I purchased for under 17.00. And that included the shipping.

I have not yet worked with these chisels, but I have looked them over carefully. The "V" chisel arrived with a sizable piece of one side broken off and is unusable. All the others appear in good condition. They look to be well constructed and came with a nice edge on them. I am a beginner in wood carving, although I have been a casual whittler all my life. I am in the process of assembling some other necessities, but am looking forward to beginning.
