Used it for a costume, will probably use it again if the need arises. It's made of a great material, with the hood being a separate piece that can be taken off if needed. If there is a con, it would be that it is not very wide for the shoulders, but I was still able to wear and maneuver in it fine.

Ordered this monk robe for a simple Halloween costume. Overall, was very happy with the costume for the price. Quality was solid, but also not too thick (so I was able to wear regular clothes underneath the robe and still be comfortable). Fit was as expected, very happy with the length of the robe.

Two small quibbles with the monk robe costume. First, because the costume material was lightweight (which I generally liked), the hood of the robe would blow off with even a minimal breeze -- or even when walking fast. A little extra weight (a trim on the edge of the hood?) would have prevented this, and it would have been great. Second, and more minor, the included rope belt looked great, but was much too short to tie as a cincture -- I ended up just using a regular know which worked but didn't look quite as good.

I like the costume, but I really expected it to be a darker color red. I kinda expected a dark wine red and it was RED. The material is decent. The cross is smaller than I expected, but it might have told me the size in the "details" and I didn't read it. ( that's on me ). I'm wondering if I buy a larger size for my husband if the rope belt will be the same size OR to match the size of the costume? I haven't asked yet. Either way, I need to take an iron to it and I guess it will work. Hanging up it looks like I got a hainmaids outfit.... I'm sure the hubs will question the gift I received

Pros: The robe is really great quality for something so cheap. If I was willing to spend more money I would choose a $20 one. But the robe is very light and good for above 60 degree weather. It is not too see through, but when hit by the sun, darker skin and clothing will show. The rope is really realistic and feels soft, not rough like a real rope. The tape on the rope is meant to stay on because the fabric is tied in a swirl. I am 4'11 and 100 IBS, the robe was a tad oversized but enough to make a flowy look!

Cons: The robe is off color, it arrived in a lighter shade but it was nice. I am assuming the color just seems different on camera. The robe is wrinkled and folded tightly, I recommend spraying sprinkles of water to make it damp and then lightly lay it on the floor with pressure of books to straighten the creases out. The robe isn't washable and smells like a factory so make sure to spray something scented on it. The hood is way oversized and not fit for someone with a larger or wider neck area. (I got the small). Other than that, I am satisfied!

Final review: 4 out of 5 stars only because of the smell, it smells like old factory farts! LOL.

I ordered a bigger size to make sure it would fit, but either I did not read or was not specified that it's 2 pieces, the long coat is up to shoulder height and the hood is another separate piece, so consider that if you are going to ask for one otherwise you might have to do a small fix on the hem. The packaging is great and the fabric itself is a bit shiny but not too much. Also the crucifix came apart, but nothing some glue would fix. In general a great piece for the price.
