I recently upgraded to the Littmann IV from a Littmann III which I had been given as part of an internship before medical school, and which I had used for my first year in a clinical skills class as whenever I shadowed or volunteered. The clarity and even volume I can get from the IV is far superior to the III and I have been incredibly pleased with my purchase. It works through clothes about as well as the III worked on skin. The aesthetics are also nice to chose from, and I intend to keep this stethoscope through to practice with. The only thing I might change are the ear piece sizes, but those can be purchased separately.
