I got these for my daughter's Star Wars birthday party. I got space themed decorations. Her 2 year old brother loved these lights so much, she strung them up beside his bed with command hooks. It comes with the capacity to use batteries or plug in with a USB connection. We have it plugged into a TV, and just manually switch it on and off. Most days it's on all day. Sometimes it turns on and off by its self. I'm not sure if that's the lights or the TV. It's been 4 months and all the lights are still working. It never gets hot. My toddler loves taking the string on and off the hooks. It gets knocked off the hooks often, and still works fine. They are super cute, too!
