I used to have a Focalink soprano c ocarina about 8 years ago or so, but I got rid of it back then and forgot how to play(i only knew zelda songs). I bought this Legend of Zelda Ocarina mainly for the look of it. It does play, and while not sounding as good as the Focalink, it'll get the job done especially if you want it for just the zelda songs/displaying it on a shelf. If you are looking to get into the Ocarina and truly play it as an instrument, I'd suggest getting something better. Either way for the price of this thing (13$ or so) it's totally worth getting if you like the game.

Worst Ocarina ever! It sounds like a lot of people got an ocarina that was in tune, mine was completely out of tune and sounded terrible. This Ocarina can not hit high notes well at all. The necklace hole goes through the voicing which affects the sound. Looks beautiful but sounds terrible.

I got this mostly as an ordainment for my desk area but did attempt to learn how to play it by purchasing a music book with it. The Look and feel of the device is nice and fits comfortably in my hands. After playing it for a bit I did find that it was flat by a half step then the notes should be (ear of music). I do not have another device to reflect against so as my first this will remain something pretty to look at on my desk.

It does work, and it is a nice instrument, but mine wasn't very good quality. The sound was very light and low, unlike the deep and loud sound of a high quality Ocarina. Comparing to my other broken Ocarina- (Same type and color scheme as this one) -this one is overall worse. I'm not sure if mine was just a bad one or not. Mine was warped in the area you put your mouth on, making it hard to blow. Compared to my old Ocarina, this one is a half inch shorter, thus making the holes smaller and closer together, which makes it hard to play unless you have really small hands. The string was longer than normal, which is a plus. Several of the holes were chipped, which made me have to put more pressure on them to insure that no air escaped. The hole placement was different from the picture, as I typed before, they were too close together. Overall it isn't low quality but it isn't high quality, like they say. I give it three stars. My reasoning: Although the seller mislead me into thinking this was high quality, it was cheaper than the other Ocarina that I bought, so I guess you get what you pay for. So if it works for you, then it may be a better buy, considering the price. In conclusion.

The sinuote arrived very quickly and was packaged nicely! It's not a very hard but cool instrument to play, and it came wkith a little book of starter songs. I ordered it for my daughter who is a HUGE Zelda fan and she was very pleased. She has had a similar one before and is a lot more pleased with this one due to the better quality and definitely better sound. This will also be a wonderful item to add to her growing Zelda collection.
