Good product if you put a little effort into it which i shall detail below. This grill has all the features i was looking for as i am no fan of gas grills. For the positives.
1) Love the double coal lift system
2) Love the chimney stack.
3) Ash collection tray is a plus also.
4) Also like the dual vents on the sides.
5) Both the grill cooking surfaces and the coal trays are of sturdy material.
6) Grill arrived in perfect order with all the parts needed
7) very simple easy to follow instructions. would have taken an hour to assemble by myself (i am very handy with tools etc) if i did not do the modifications below. (added another 2 hours)

Now the negatives.
The grill is leaky, meaning it is not sealed. which won't allow for good temperature control so i added a few things to make it function perfectly which i will also list below.
1) Chimney stack wont close all the way because of a tab they put in. bent the tab back with a vice grip and all was well.
2) Chimney stack does not seal on hood of grill. added some 3/8 nomex gasket on the inside of the seating face then screwed it down to hood. problem solved.
3) The doors do not seal either which allows for air to enter the grill making it difficult for temperature control. Added sale 3/8 X 1/8 nomex gasket to this. problem solved
4) The vents on either side do not seal AT ALL. more nomex tape added
5) the hood does not seal. More nomex tape added to the rim of the hood all the way round.
6) Frame of the grill not perfectly flush on the inside allowing air in. used RTV high temp sealant for this. (make sure its food grade sealant) problem solved.
7) now for the collection tray. This has air gaps everywhere. Also sealed this with nomex but needed thicker tape grade. so used 1 inch X 1/4 inch tape for this.
8) Coal basket spaces a bit large so fairly large pieces can fall through. I have seen people use foil for this but i used small square metal wire mesh for this so that the pieces that fall into the collection tray would be smaller.

All of these mods added 2 hours to my assembly and another 30 bux in tape purchase but all in all it was worth it. Awesome grill and now i can control the temperature! Only thing i would add to this is some hooks for hanging the BBQ tongs, etc but i can get something at the hardware store for this and add myself.

all in all i am happy but its up to you if you want to put in the effort.!

Delivered fast. Extremely clear directions. It took about an hour to put it together all by myself (except for 30 seconds when my wife helped to lift the firebox onto the base (as the directions instructed). Used it already and be day after purchasing and I love the baskets for the charcoal. I suspect that it will last longer than the trays I had in the old grill. Also excited about the dual zone heating. Was a little disappointed that the metal back seemed to be slightly damaged during shipment. My guess is that is on UPS and not the manufacturer since the box was damaged significantly during shipment. But I think I will live. It still cooks. I just hope it holds up over time.

I decided to get this after my 3rd cast iron grill rusted through in under 2 years.

It's big. A lot bigger than normal charcoal grills so requires more charcoal than most and controlling the temperature takes a little getting used to. It's heavy too. Stainless steel discolored after second use - was at high temp for almost 3 hours grilling a turkey both times - but I don't consider aesthetics that important and I keep it covered when not in use anyway. Other than that I like all the stuff you can adjust for optimal air flow and the bottle opener on the front is a nice bonus.

Besides the discoloration the main reason I gave it 4 stars is that the back is kind of flimsy. It was bent when I took it out of the box - bad enough that the two left grates fell through - but it was easily bent back just by removing the lid, turning it on its front and pushing on the bent part until it straightened out. There's still a little bowed up part where one of the grates goes but it's not super noticeable and again I don't care that much about aesthetics. However, whenever the lid is open the whole back bows out a little, so far not bad enough for the grates to fall in but enough that I'm planning to install a piece of steel to brace the back just to make sure that doesn't happen.

Overall I think it's a great grill for the money and it should last a long time.

The grill arrived in all the parts and sheet metal in good shape, so it looks like the manufacturer solved some of the issues prior buyers complained of --- or I just got lucky!. Assembled, it looks good. The lid is double-walled (less than 1/4"), but the main firebox is not. Also, the charcoal baskets are very open mesh --- you cannot use any wood chips in these as they would fall strait through. I am adding a liner with smaller holes to allow better control of the burn rate and more flexibility in adding wood chips and finer fuels. Another issue is that the side air vents do not close off the air completely, there is a slight gap when the vents are fully closed. This, coupled with the fact that the back of the ash tray does not seal the bottom of the firebox completely, means it is more difficult to regulate the airflow for a low-and-slow heat. I recommend adding grill tape to the openings, also, for a better seal (that would be an inexpensive addition I would recommend the manufacturer make). Even with all the necessary modifications, the grill is well-constructed and I am fairly happy with the grill. I use my grill extensively and year-round, and this one looks to be a good choice.

We got this BBQ to replace an old one we used for 20 years. It has a lot of features the other one didn't have. We like the ability to move the cooking area up and down closer and further from the coals, and can use both sides of it. Cleans up well, also, as the shelving is coated.
