Using an 80-foot-range IR Light inside a dark garage is like bringing the Sun inside.
Zzyzx Oh•August 20, 2018
This light seems small at first glance, so I wondered if I'd be disappointed at its light output. I tested it first in a workshop and when I checked the security camera I went back in thinking I have left the extensive room lighting turned on. Nope, just this 4-watt IR lighting source. So, it worked, maybe too well for the space where I tested it. And, I noticed it was pretty warm to the touch, so not all of the 4-watts is producing light. Is it hot enough to be a danger? Time will tell, but it is unsettling.
I moved it to an intermediate sized residential garage designed with space for three cars. One the security camera, I need to look for clues to determine if the regular lighting is on or not - like which direction are the shadows. This thing leaves no doubt about what is or is not in the area.
A couple of things. The light is so bright it triggers a motion alarm when it comes on in darkness or turns off in light. These triggers don't occur when the light is disconnected, so I know it's the lighting itself. I will be moving it to different locations within the space to see if I can minimize this or at least reduce the shadows.
I'm a little concerned about its life expectancy patrially due to the perceived temperature of the device when on. I will be curious to see how long the light lasts and how long the power supply survives. Coupled together in one package at a low price, there isn't much at risk if this dies a couple of years out, and I think if just one LED goes it will still have plenty of output, but if the power supply goes a replacement matches the cost of the whole package, so I would consider alternatives if this dies too soon.
A bargain, really, as many have commented because for the price of a light or a power supply you get a light and a power supply. I have no doubt the 80-foot range is true and I might aim it out a window before I settle on the permanent spot just to watch the cars go by at night. I would buy this again for other locations if it lives long enough.

Very effective and affordable upgrade.

Great upgrade to value security cameras. I had purchased a pair of cameras (zmodo indoor/outdoor WiFi) to cover the front and back yard. We'd had issues with people cutting through the fenced in yard as well as trying to enter our garage. I placed a camera on the front porch to cover the porch and gate entrance, as well as the back porch to cover the rear entrance and garahe an door. However, at night the distant areas were too dim to detect motion or even a visible image in the areas I wanted to cover. I purchased one of these for the backyard, and it made the back garage and fences perfectly visible at night so I went ahead and snagged another for the front porch which made the area between myself and the neighbors (where the gate is located) visible as well. Attached are two images of the difference (one with the Illuminator off and the other on). Very good upgrade if night vision is proving a security problem.
Works through single pane windows
reviewermasterer•July 23, 2018
Works through single pane window.
Pros: illuminates decently to see at least 10-15 feet. Can make out further than that. But either way, 1000x better than not having the IR light. It's pretty compact and wont stand out as much as the higher powered units. Has auto on/off sensor. Will be able to detect motion (high vs low) with a Logitech Circle 2.
Cons: Cord is kind of short (item photo info clearly states cord length of 1.7feet + 4 feet)
[might be an issue with the Circle 2 cam and not the IR light] unable to sense person detection. tested only one pass. At least it senses high vs low motion and triggers it to record. I thought my Yi Cam was doomed for night time motion recording. I might have to invest in some high powered IR illuminators and test this issue.

VERY BRIGHT IR LIGHT!
Bandit•April 25, 2018
I purchased this IR Light in place of my Cameras IR Light. My cameras IR Light was causing too many False Motion Detecting because of bugs flying in front of it at Night. My Security Camera's are Amcrest, set to Colorful which is Color during the day and Black & White night with IR turn off. IR Light Only works with Black & White. The IR Light was Spliced into my Low Voltage Power Supply Wire going to some Landscape Lights I have in a Flower Bed which is controlled by a Photocell (off in daylight, on at night) I turned off my Camera IR light and placed this One Foot below my Camera. I have included a picture. You can see the illumination on the Wood Trellis to the Left, on the Fence Pole and Myself and Grass in Front of Me. The Build Quality of this IR Light is Very Good and Works Great! Would definitely buy again without a doubt!
Some moisture build up
John•February 13, 2018
I bought this to light up my backyard because the Arlo Pro 2 camera has poor night vision this is a great product lights up my yard very well and it's very small. I've only had it for one day but it's been great so far. Update one of the two i bought has moisture build on the inside of the glass. I a worried this one may fail. After a couple of months of use. Fingers crossed . update contacted manufacturer they send me a refund.the other has no water in lense. I will buy again
