Remember that this has a daylight sensor. It won't power up the IR light when it detects light. I nearly returned it before I realized what was going on. Now that I know, I really like the feature. It saves a good deal of electricity by not running when it's not needed.

Purchased because camera native IR light attracted bugs that constantly activated motion detector. Mounted this on other side of house which solved the problem. Of course turned off camera IR.
Install was easy, coverage roughly 200' distance in very dark location. Works well, only downside is red glow from light can be seen at 60 yards distant. Again, this likely due to pitch dark location.
