These are beautifully made and they roll nicely. They have some small pieces and fine details so they need to be handled carefully. This set is meant to be partnered with Kato's Milwaukee Road FP7A(95A)-F7B(95B)-FP7A(95C) locomotive configuration.
Passenger cars in general are long and require wider radius curves than freight cars. This is a large set and it's not great if you want a small, quickie layout. If you add the three locomotives, your train is more than 8' long. This set requires a minimum 11" radius curve on flat track, and 15" radius on viaduct track. So, it's really best for a large, permanent layout.
Recommended for serious hobbyists

The train cars are superb in appearance however the couplers on the cars are lousy, they uncouple quite often. I wish Kato would correct this problem. These cars aren't cheap.
