There is a fine line I think between dark brown and black hair and this made my hair definitely cross over into black. This mask is so black it is blue/purple. It stains like crazy so do as others suggest and wear plastic gloves. Remember, your ends are always going to be the drier portion of your hair so they typically will soak up more color than your root area. My hair is almost blue black. If that is what you are going for --this is it. Me, I was not. It will fade out and there is still blue grey coloring coming out of my hair when I wash it so it will just take time. Be warned -- it deposits a lot of color. Though it is on the cool side so if you are like me and hate when your hair pulls orange/red -- this didn't do that so all was not lost.

I had just had my hair done by my stylist and the subtle balayage that I had asked for and shown a photo of had come out as bright blond streaks from root to tip in my dark brown hair. I love my stylist and I didn't want to tell them that what they did to my hair was not at all what I had hoped for. I looked around the internet and most message boards suggest that you either go back to your stylist and ask them to fix it, or go to a different salon for a color correction. I just wanted something to tone down the highlights to a less early 2000's Spice Girls level without possibly melting my newly bleached highlights off. So I looked around the internet a little more and a few people suggested a color mask. Most of the reviews for this product are on blogs, and none of them were in my color...but, after a few days of living with hair color that I only felt comfortable leaving the house in if I covered the worst of it with mascara, I decided to give this a go. I followed the instructions, which were a bit vague on shampoo and conditioner - I shampooed first, then applied the Chocolate color mask wearing disposable gloves. Waited 10 minutes, rinsed. After I was done I used my hairdryer and was SO happy with my results!!! The mask deposited a rich red brown over the blond highlights and my hair was super shiny to boot! This product is a keeper! Worth every penny!

Excellent results! I went icy blonde a couple of months ago and have had trouble keeping away brassy tones. I tried a few different purple shampoos which helped a lot but dried out my hair and made it slightly gray\purple tinged if I left it on too long. It often didn't look blended. I ordered both the pearl shampoo and color mask. The color mask came in first so I have used it twice so far. I leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes on washed, damp and wrung out hair after combing it through. The results are beyond my expectations! I now have an illluminous pearly white\blonde tone to my hair. In the sun there is a subtle and delicate pink👕pearly undertone. My hair is much softer and manageable. I just went to a corporate event and had tons of compliments (as well as a few product inquiries). My husband loves the look too. I'm now a huge fan! I'd like to try out out the platinum color at some point but this is now my go-to product for keeping my hair toned, shiny and on point!

I mix equal parts KC Red Conditioner and VERB hair mask and love the results. I have very fine wavy textured hair, naturally blonde but have been dying my hair for years. I was red for about 7 years, then blue-black for two, and now lightened back to red. My hair has been processed a TON and is porous but has never been fried. We all know red dye fades quickly, but this helps keep it fresh between processing. It leans blue, so is a cool red, and very vibrant. For some reason it doesn't do a whole lot on my roots (blonde) but I think it's because I don't work it into my scalp. I focus on the length of my hair and ends, which fade unevenly. 100% part of my routine now. I use it every other week and wash my hair 2x a week. It does bleed, but that may be because my hair is very porous and color just falls out of it anyhow.

I did not have high hopes for this product. All other copper conditioners I have tried turned my hair pumpkin orange - not natural looking at all.

This product gave me just the tint I needed for my faded ginger color. It'll hold me over very well between colorings. I left it in for 3 minutes. I'll leave in for 5 next time for brighter results.

WARNING - WILL STAIN SHOWER!!!!!!!! If you spill a glob on the floor, RINSE IMMEDIATELY!! Or apply after the shower with a tarp or old towel down.
