Awesome Abalone

This is worth the purchase. Very good!
Good for making soup. You cannot just open it and eat it like that...

I saw many people gave negative feedback are not Asian, I think they may not know the correct way to eat this product. I did not buy this on Amazon because I could get it for lower price in local Asian store. I never have problem with this product. Cook with Chinese cabbage and chicken as soup is a good way. Another way: boil it, cool down, and slicing it, eat with mayo and greens as salad. You don't just open it and eat it like that, I don't know what would happen if you do so...
Use them in specialty dish like Korean abalone porridge
Kate I. Lee✓ Verified Purchase•May 1, 2023
Made traditional Korean abalone porridge healthy food, boyaksik, with 2 of them (3 come in a can, froze the last one) and it was plenty for one pot full. Minced and chopped abalone pieces finely to make the porridge which is expensive ordered from a Korean restaurant. Turned out well, seasoned more with salt and adding chopped celery and asparagus. Great value for the money and preparation. I do not want to and I'd be scared to clean a live one. I'd recommend to use in a specialty dish like mine or one mentioned with Chinese bok choy.
i got a good one; tender and flavorful

evidently there are quality control issues with this product. I've had no problems with this brand, but then I don't have any choices either. If I want abalone, this is the one on the shelves. I've tried fresh harvested here in CA, but my experience pounding and pounding is not something I relish. i'd say, if you got a bad one, bring it back. tossing the other two at these prices, and one where you can detect a bad product, is a tad short sighted.
