Very well packaged, sealed and bubble wrapped. Item was exactly as described, very high quality and well built. I was just as skeptical as you are about the price, but it's the real deal. Got it installed this morning, out in the -12°F North Dakota winter. Pickup lit right up, running great so far. I'll update this review if I have any issues.
My repair shop wanted $130 for a "factory" part, and another $90 of labor to get this part installed. It took me 5 minutes to get the old one out and the new one in. Quick note: most engines have 2 of these, so do yourself a favor and replace both (if your engine has 2). The repair shop wanted to replace it with was the exact same part that broke, with the poorly attached screens that got sucked into the solenoid in the first place. These aftermarket parts fixed this issue by wrapping the screens with a spring to keep them in place.
I'd definitely recommend this over a "factory" part, not to mention it's a fraction of the price!
