Needed this to upgrade an older laptop that had a older style (2 notches on card) with a 1Gb Western Digital SATA SSD. It was not initially acknowledged by the laptop when plugged in. It eventually worked and transfer of the operating system was successfully tranfered. I used the Western Digital transfer software to do the transfer. It was inexpensive and it met expectations on a potentially difficult transfer. The quality was consistent with the low price.

I had tried unsuccessfully to transfer files from my old computer through windows. Just would not work for the very large batch of files I was dealing with. Even tried to take to back up file and back to new computer, still very poor results with hours wasted.

And they are saved and safe on my original SSD if I ever it need in future.

It is recommended that you plug this thing into a USB 3 port, otherwise performance will suffer. The included screw driver is a nice touch, but it will take a couple of minutes to install the NVMe into the adapter. For my purposes it is a good fit.

It's a little bit of a hassle to have to use a screw driver to install a drive, but once it's done and all together this thing has a real nice, sturdy feel to it. I suppose most people don't have stacks and stacks of SSDs they want to swap between on the fly, but if you did then maybe having to unscrew the thing to change drives would get annoying- not an issue for me.
