I have 4 or these mats that I set up each winter and just forget them til the spring. They do an excellent job till the temp gets down below 0F, They are rated at 40 degrees F above ambient so cover most Temperature situations. Just remember not to wear ice crampons when walking on them. Seems to have very little impact on my electric bill so far.

We bought a door mat & connectors & a couple of long mats & plugged them in an outlet by our front door. We turn them on when ice/snow is expected. Instead of having to use lots of ice melt, the mats melted anything that fell on them & a small area around them. I take out our dogs many times a day & always dreaded the ice on the walks. These mats are very study & water standing on them doesn't seem to matter. We haven't had any DEEP snow - just an inch or so, but I'm sure it will melt whatever falls on them. They aren't hot, just slightly warm, so they don't hurt the dogs to walk on them. Be sure to figure out the connectors needed to make a system. Very pleased & I think they'll last a few years because they are very sturdy material.

Bought this for my sisters walk way, She has one already so I just had to plug the new one to the old one and extended out the walkway. It was 16 Degrees and Snowing when I plugged it in . There was 6 inches of snow that day and the Heating Melting Pads kept the walkway free of Ice and Snow. Will be buying another extension pads at Christmas time.
