Why hasn't any reviews talked about how you get gold streaks in your hair as it processes? I know for me during the processing, of 2 hours I saw why its called unicorn hair, I had gold streaks throughout my hair, It washed out afterward, but still it was neat. Check the photo! I like it, although I did have a pink tub and you could see my foot prints where I stood in the shower rinsing it out. Nothing a little bleach didn't clean, just had to let it sit for 3 mins. Every time I wash my hair you can see the color in the soap suds, but the color is still vibrant after 4 washes. I wash my hair every 3 days, to keep the color in longer. I have about pixie cut length hair and maybe used a 4th of the tub. Planning on buying this color again and another for my kiddos hair. Lastly, I left my hair so soft!

I love this product the color turned out amazing my hair was purple before I died it so I had to use a Leitner that I just picked up from Walmart colo rista all over bleach is what I used to lighten my hair since my hair was already previously treated it only took about 30 minutes and then I applied the blue to my hair and I left it in for an hour I also took this opportunity to die some extensions that I had bought and the And result her not amazing I love this product the color turned out amazing

To start off, let me say that I have 2 decades worth of hair dying experience with these types of colours. Until about a year ago, I wasn't even sure what my natural colour was. Anyways, I took a break from dying my hair for about two years to let it recover from having made my almost black hair white. Deciding to dye it again, I first went to my old favs, Punky Colour and Manic Panic.

Punky Colour stuck around, but didn't make it through a month. Manic Panic practically just washed out and just toned my hair to a nice blonde(I was using shades of purple for both). I then went looking for Special Effects, and got suggested Unicorn Hair by the search gods. Looking through the colours and the reviews, I figured it was worth a shot and decided on Chocolate Cherry.

To fill you in more, I have really thick hair. For my shoulder length hair, I was using about 3 jars of the other brands to cover my hair. With Unicorn hair, I didn't completely use one. The dye itself is really smooth, having a texture that's close to pudding. It went into my hair easily, soaking in. I didn't cover my hair with a cap, just clipped it up and it stayed put, though I was just watching netflix.

After about two hours, my kitten started trying to pat at my head. Looking in mirror, I realised this was because a metallic golden sheen had developed across my head and she likes to go after shiny things. Figuring it was probably ready I rinsed it with a bit of diluted white vinegar and then cold water. It came out pretty easily as it went in, and at first, I kinda panicked.

Then I looked in the mirror. My hair was a bit dark. It of course showed of it's glory after I blow dried it. In the direct light it shown a brilliant fushia. In soft light, it was the colour shown online. It was even and majestic. I was thrilled.

I ravelled in the magnificence that was my hair, and when it came time a few days later to truly wash it, I held my breathe. The water ran pink and I was sure when I dried it, it would not be the same as it was.

But I was wrong. After two washes so far it is still the beautiful colour, with a great glow when the light hits. Even my fiance, who's been on these wild hair escapades with me for about a decade has mentioned how amazing this colour is and how it's holding so far.

I know it won't last forever, but so far I can say that it's the best hair dye I have found so far, and I will be trying out the other colours.

I'm so in love with my unicorn hair! I went from a dull silver/rose to a gorgeous vibrant magenta! Never going back to the other semi permanent brands I've used in the past. Lime Crime Unicorn Hair is my new bestie!

I bought the Chocolate Covered Cherry and left it on for 2 hours (only by accident because I work from home and got stuck on a call) but it washed out beautifully and my hair was silky smooth! It smells amazing too which makes coloring much more pleasant. So far I've only washed it once in warm water since coloring and the color is still just as vibrant!

I wanted to try this after trying L'Oréal colorista. It smells great and doesn't damage hair. I put it in my dry hair (I have to admit I hadn't washed it that day, but the day before) and went to sleep. It definitely worked! I gave it 4 starts because I haven't washed it again so I don't know how well it stays... but I bought smoke blue to try that next. BTW in the picture I used Aesthetic! Second is blue smoke
