I recently purchased a new chair for my office. The bottom cushion is removable with a zipper for the 1" foam inset. I love the chair but the seat cushion was a bit too hard. This memory foam insert was the perfect size for me to place in the zipper cushion on top of the factory cushion. Now I have a 2" foam cushion for the seat pad and it's perfect.

I bought this to supplement a failing seat cushion, expecting it would have some substance to it. Instead, it squeezes flat under modest weight. I have used it as planned, and it certainly helps, but I'm still searching for what I would consider a true high-density foam.
